Our volunteers and staff are truly the heart of who we are. They show up each and every day with a smile, a willingness to help, and a commitment to making a difference in the lives of others.

What a privilege to welcome JLA to Lema’an Achai!

Over the next four weeks, JLA volunteers will be working with four Lema’an Achai families, helping each family organize and transform a specific area of their home.

Because chesed can take many forms. Sometimes, it looks like a clean, organized home, a little less stress, and a fresh start.

As we enter the month of Elul, the Lema’an Achai team came together to reflect, plan, and prepare for the meaningful weeks ahead.

Elul is a time for reflection and growth, and we’re taking that time together as a team to look inward and think about how we can continue showing up for the people and families who rely on us. We heard from incredible team leaders, including Rachel Moore and Mordecai Holtz, who shared meaningful words of insight and inspiration.

Here’s to a month of growth, connection, and Chesed.

A huge thank you to NCSY GIVE for planning such a beautiful carnival and bringing so much light, laughter, and joy to our Lema’an Achai families!

Summer can be especially challenging for families. With children home from school, parents are balancing work, childcare, and increased expenses. We’re so grateful to be able to provide moments of respite and joy for families who are struggling.

Thank you to the incredible volunteers of NCSY GIVE for making this special day possible and reminding our families that they are surrounded by a caring community.

Six months ago, Sarah was doing everything she could just to survive.

A young single mother of two, she was living on less than $1,200 a month. After the sudden loss of her husband, she was left grieving while facing overwhelming debt, rising expenses, and the impossible task of providing for her children on her own.

When Sarah turned to Lema’an Achai, she wasn’t looking for a handout. She was looking for hope.

Through the support of Lema’an Achai, Sarah was connected with a dedicated social worker who helped her increase her Bituach Leumi benefits, move into a safe apartment, furnish her new home, access emotional and medical support, find employment, and receive financial and career counseling. Lema’an Achai also made sure her children could attend summer camp, giving Sarah the opportunity to work while continuing to rebuild her life.

Today, Sarah is covering her basic expenses, managing her debt, and building a brighter future for herself and her children.

At Lema’an Achai, we believe that with the right support, guidance, and dignity, families can break the cycle of poverty and create lasting change.

It truly takes a village.

Lema’an Achai and the community of Mevo Choron came together to celebrate the Bat Mitzvah of the daughter of one of our incredible Sister Circle single moms. Thanks to the dedication of the Yishuv’s Tnuat Noar - youth group - and the generosity of so many community members, she was surrounded with love, joy, and the celebration every Bat Mitzvah girl deserves.

Moments like these remind us of the power of community and what can happen when people come together to lift one another up. Mazal tov to this beautiful family!
