🦆🎉 FOUR EXTRA DUCK RACE WINNERS!🎉🦆

For the first time ever, all 2,000 ducks in the Wicklow Regatta Duck Race completely SOLD OUT!

We were absolutely blown away by the support, and as a little extra celebration, we decided to pull four additional winners at random from this year’s ducks.

Each of our four lucky winners will receive a Wicklow Town Voucher:

They are available in €5, €10, €20 and €50 denominations.

💙💛 A MASSIVE THANK YOU TO WICKLOW HIRE 💛💙

Throughout this year’s festival, we faced several serious logistical challenges which, through no fault of our own, could easily have resulted in events being cancelled.

But whenever we found ourselves in difficulty, Barry O’Reilly and his team at Wicklow Hire stepped up to save the day.

Again and again, Barry responded with generosity, practical support and a genuine determination to help the Regatta continue. His help made a real difference, not only to the committee, but to every person who was able to enjoy an event because a problem was solved behind the scenes.

Barry and Wicklow Hire have supported the Regatta for many years, always doing whatever they can to help our town’s festival succeed. We are incredibly grateful for that continued support and very lucky to have a business like Wicklow Hire in our community.

Please remember to support local businesses. These are the people and businesses Wicklow relies on, and they are often the ones quietly working in the background to keep our community events going.

🧡 MEET THE TEAM BEHIND THE 2026 WICKLOW REGATTA FESTIVAL 🧡

With more than 50 free family events, this year’s Wicklow Regatta offered something for everyone to enjoy. There was live music, creative workshops, opportunities to learn new skills, events supporting local businesses, much-loved Regatta traditions and exciting new additions to the programme.

We saw old friends, made new ones and created wonderful memories together. None of it would have been possible without the hardworking team behind the scenes.

The 2026 festival programme was organised by a small committee of just 10 dedicated volunteers. From completing permit applications and securing sponsorship to booking workshops, sourcing raffle prizes, updating the website, printing posters, numbering ducks and managing the thousands of other jobs involved, this team worked tirelessly to bring the festival to life.

Every committee member works full time and has family and other commitments outside the Regatta. Yet, when festival time arrives, they roll up their sleeves, put on the high-vis and do whatever needs to be done. So much of their work happens quietly behind the scenes, with around 90% of it never seen by the public.

The Wicklow Regatta has been bringing our community together for 148 years, and we are incredibly proud to play our part in continuing this very special tradition.

Please join us in celebrating and thanking our wonderful 2026 Wicklow Regatta Festival Committee.

⚽👏 WHAT A FANTASTIC ADDITION TO THE WICKLOW REGATTA FESTIVAL! 👏⚽

A huge thank you to everyone who took part in our inaugural Walking Football exhibition at this year’s Wicklow Regatta Festival.

It was a brilliant evening of football, sportsmanship and community spirit, with both teams putting on a fantastic display. The match was decided in dramatic fashion, with a late winner securing a thrilling 2–1 victory. But in truth, every player was a winner in our book.

One of the most special moments of the day came after the final whistle with the presentation of the perpetual Mickey Rooney Trophy to the winning team – a wonderful tribute that made the occasion even more memorable.

A sincere thank you to Wicklow Walking Football for their enthusiasm and support in helping bring this new event to the festival. We hope everyone who came along enjoyed seeing what walking football is all about and perhaps even felt inspired to give it a try.

Here’s to making this the first of many. We hope Walking Football becomes a regular fixture of the Wicklow Regatta Festival for many years to come!

🦆🎉 2026 REGATTA DUCK RACE — WHAT A QUACKING SUCCESS! 🎉🦆

What an unforgettable race it was… right up until the ducks broke through the net and made a bid for freedom! 😂

Oh, what fun we had chasing 2,000 ducks back up the river!

A huge thank you to everyone who bought a duck and supported our biggest fundraiser. For the first time ever, we completely sold out, and that was all thanks to your incredible support.

Batchelors Walk, the River Walk and Parnell Bridge were bursting at the seams with spectators, families and plenty of people cheering on their ducks.

A very special thank you to our brilliant kayakers, who worked like a well-oiled machine to steer the ducks, collect the escapees and get them safely back into their bags for next year’s race. We also had a huge number of children who were instrumental in helping us collect all the ducks from teh rivers edge. We truly could not have done it without you.

And of course, a huge congratulations to this year’s winner, Susan Carey! 🏆

Thank you to everyone who helped make the 2026 Duck Race such a fantastic success. What a day, what a crowd and what a race!
