We’re delighted to announce that our upcoming East Wicklow Business Network Business Breakfast Briefing on Friday 22nd May will feature a special fireside chat between Senator Aubrey McCarthy and podcaster and executive coach Andrea Splendori.

Many of you will know Andrea through The Social Fabric Podcast - a series of honest and thought-provoking conversations exploring the threads that connect us through leadership, creativity, resilience, purpose and change.

Alongside the podcast, Andrea works with leaders, professionals and individuals navigating transition, helping them find clarity, confidence and forward momentum.

If you haven’t listened to The Social Fabric Podcast before, it’s well worth exploring. Each episode is an unscripted conversation about meaningful work, authentic relationships and living with intention in an increasingly noisy world.

This conversation promises to be one of the standout EWBN events of the year.

Andrea will speak with Senator Aubrey McCarthy, whose life has been shaped by adversity, fuelled by compassion and defined by service. From growing up amid significant hardship, to founding Tiglin, developing innovative social housing initiatives and now serving in Seanad Éireann, Aubrey’s story is one of resilience, empathy and action.

Together, they will explore:
• the experiences that shaped Aubrey’s outlook on life
• the philosophy behind Tiglin’s transformational work
• the importance of dignity, belonging and second chances
• and why human connection matters now more than ever

This promises to be a powerful and inspiring morning with two exceptional people.

Places are limited and early booking is advised.

Great to see another strong Wicklow business story making headlines this week.

A recent piece in the Irish Independent highlights how Ashford-based entrepreneur Paul O’Shea scaled his business from local GAA connections into a client base that now includes global names like Google and Microsoft, alongside expansion into Europe. A powerful reminder of what can be built from local roots with the right network, ambition and consistency.

This is exactly the type of journey the East Wicklow Business Network is here to support and showcase - connecting people, ideas and opportunities across the region.

If you’re looking to tap into that network, build relationships and hear more stories like this, join us at our next event:

A full room, strong conversations, real takeaways and new relationships being formed.

Our latest East Wicklow Business Network Business Breakfast Briefing at Greystones Lawn Tennis Club brought together a great mix of local business owners and professionals for a morning that was both thought-provoking and practical.

With contributions from Farzana Maudarbaccus and Paul Byrne, the session struck a powerful balance between personal development and business performance. These are two areas that are increasingly intertwined in today’s environment.

We’ll be sharing some of the key takeaways over the coming weeks but one thing is worth saying now...there is real value in being in the room. If business had a sound it would be the buzz of conversation, ideas being exchanged, connections being made, and opportunities starting to take shape.

That’s what East Wicklow Business Network is all about...driving business forward.

If you attended and liked what you experienced then we'd appreciate your support so we can bring you more: https://www.wicklowbusiness.ie/membership-form

Resilience impacts how you handle a range of situations. You need it to excel in business.

And whether we like it or not, AI is shaping what the next few years look like.

Two areas that are very real for anyone running a business right now. That’s why Friday’s EWBN Business Breakfast Briefing packs a punch.

• Farzana Maudarbaccus (TEDx speaker) will talk to us on resilience
• Paul Byrne will educate us on how to use AI to increase efficiency and profitability.

If you’re around, it’s a good way to spend 90 minutes this Friday morning.
