✨ OT Club + Sensory Sessions are now ONE! ✨

STARTING SEPTEMBER 15TH

We’re bringing all the fun, creativity, movement and sensory magic together every Tuesday, 3:30–5:00pm at NEON Headquarters! 🌈

What can your child expect? 👇

🎨 Arts & crafts
🧠 Fine motor skill development
🏃 Gross motor skills & movement
✨ Lots of sensory play
🐾 Animal fun
💪 OT Gym activities
🌟 And LOTS of opportunities to explore, play, learn and have fun!

Everything is embedded into child-led, neuroaffirming surroundings, where children can be themselves, follow their interests and develop skills through meaningful play. 💛

Imagine a child who is completely fascinated by Minecraft.

Instead of saying:

What if we asked:

“What is it about Minecraft that lights you up?”

And then we followed that interest.

🎮 WHAT IF MINECRAFT WASN’T A DISTRACTION FROM THE CURRICULUM… BUT THE START OF IT?

Imagine a child who is completely fascinated by Minecraft.

Instead of saying:

❌ “You need to come away from Minecraft and do some schoolwork.”

What if we asked:

“What is it about Minecraft that lights you up?”

And then we followed that interest.

🌳 MINECRAFT → OUTDOORS
Go outside and explore the natural world. Collect materials. Look at habitats. Build shelters. Map the environment.

🧲 MINECRAFT → MAGNETIC CUBES
Design and construct structures. Explore balance, symmetry, shapes and 3D space.

🏗️ MINECRAFT → BUILDING
Plan a structure. Draw it. Measure it. Build it. Test it. Change it. Try again.

🛖 MINECRAFT → HUT MAKING
What makes a shelter safe? What materials would work? How big does it need to be? Can we build one together?

📐 MINECRAFT → MATHS
Counting blocks. Area. Perimeter. Length. Height. Patterns. Coordinates. Budgeting materials.

⚙️ MINECRAFT → ENGINEERING
How can we make something stronger? Why did it fall? What could we change? How can we solve the problem?

🌍 MINECRAFT → GEOGRAPHY
Biomes. Landscapes. Natural resources. Maps. Climate. Where would you build and why?

📖 MINECRAFT → LITERACY
Write a story about your world. Create characters. Write instructions. Make a guidebook. Explain your build.

🎨 MINECRAFT → ART & DESIGN
Pixel art. Architecture. Colour. Pattern. Designing a world from imagination.

🤝 MINECRAFT → SOCIAL LEARNING
Collaborate. Negotiate. Share ideas. Plan together. Solve problems as a team.

And yes, the screen itself can have value too.

The goal isn’t to take away something a child loves simply because it happens to be digital.

The goal is to notice the interest underneath it.

Because Minecraft might tell us something important:

This child loves building.
This child loves systems.
This child loves creating worlds.
This child loves problem-solving.
This child loves patterns and structure.
This child has an incredible imagination.

That is where the curriculum can begin.

At NEON Ireland, we believe the curriculum should bend to fit the child - not the other way around. Every child’s learning journey can be built around their strengths, interests, sensory needs and unique way of experiencing the world.

The interest is not the obstacle to learning.

The interest can be the pathway into learning. 💚

The anxiety of what lies ahead tomorrow has kept me up most of the night. Trying to think of everything and anything to make it go smoother, make the transition easier.
Uniform and alternatives, lunchbox contents, fidgets, communication passports. We pass on haircuts and new shoes in this house as it would dysregulate everyone even more. We just want to tell every Mama and Papabear out there that we know how you feel! We will be thinking of you and if you need anything, a chat please talk to us. It doesn't have to be a lonely road.

Today we opened our classroom door for the first time ❤️ It feels like the beginning of so much to come and I am beyond excited. The last few weeks have been so hard on us, on our families and friends. We did it because we believe in this, it feels right and we can't wait to meet you all here! I am so proud of Rachel and of myself. We did it, we really did. 🥳 there is still so much work to be done but as I am sitting here in our new classroom it feels like home. This place is magic. It is a place that says "welcome in", a place that says "yes", a place that feels calm and nurturing with lots of places for excitement too, for creativity, for taking responsibility, for exploring, for friendships and laughter, for love and connection.
