Lamport probably wasn't the first Wexford man to be born with a desire to see the World but he must surely rank as one of those who most successfully made his mark on his travels. He is still remembered with love and respect in Mexico

, his adopted home for the latter half of his life, where he lived an exciting and wonderful life and was one of the first to agitate for Mexican independence. Wexford ZorroFest takes place over the May bank holiday weekend.
