Happy Friday and we hope you enjoy the weekend! Thanks so much to our Friday Friendship sponsor The Saw Doctors who gave a legendary performance last weekend at the Electric Picnic. Did you get to see them joined by the All-Ireland-winning Mayo footballers? A magical moment with a memorable rendition of ‘The Green and Red of Mayo’!

Speaking of Mayo, we'd like to thank David McGowan Photography for this stunning photo of Portacloy Cliffs from this year's Safe Home Ireland calendar. We are also grateful to John Broderick for his poem 'Towel', sometimes we all feel like throwing the towel in, but we persevere!

It's Friday once again, and we look forward to the weekend ahead.

Thanks to John Broderick for this week's poignant poem 'Mood Swings' - we celebrated for Mayo, and we were saddened by the news of Glen Hansard's passing, may he rest in peace. As Johnny B writes, 'We need to be there for each other'.

Thanks also to Lorcan Shannon Law of New York for being our calendar sponsor this week.

Our CEO, Karen McHugh was honoured to attend the launch of the Irish in Britain ‘Look Back to Look Forward - 50 Years of the Irish in Britain’ Exhibition in Elmwood Hall in Queen's University Belfast as part of the Fleadh Cheoil.

This is a powerful and emotive Exhibition and a very important part of Irelands history of emigration to Britain.

Great to see Ann Lawlor, member of ‘Friends’ of Safe Home Ireland featured and to attend on Day 2 with another member of ‘Friends’, Stephen Graham.

If you are travelling to Belfast to the Fleadh be sure to visit. The exhibition is opened daily from 11am to 4pm every day until 16 August.
