Tochar Phadraig Fundraising Walk

Tochar Phadraig Fundraising Walk This is an annual fundraising event that takes place the end of April/start of May each year The walk is 22 miles/35km across bog, field and road.

This fundraising walk, proudly supported by Ballintubber Abbey, will start at 6.15am on May 3rd 2025 from Ballintubber Abbey. A free bus will provide transport out from Westport town for anyone that needs it. This transport will leave at 5.30 am from the Tesco Westport car park. There will be lots of food and toilet stops and there will be support vehicles along the route.

22 miles can be daunti

ng for some people but the best thing about this walk is you can do as little or as much as you want. The first 10 miles will be via field, and this will bring us out to Aughagower. People can decide to join here and continue the next 12 miles via road

Morning 🌞 I'm so looking forward to seeing some of you on Saturday. Here is all the information you need for Saturday: We will start the walk at 6.15am sharp on May 3rd from Ballintubber Abbey. A free bus will provide transport out from Westport Town for anyone that needs it. It will leave at 5.30am from Tesco in Westport. We advice people to get the bus as there won't be any return transport back to Ballintubber Abbey. We will however have transport from Campbells back into town or from where ever you decide to stop. The walk is 22 miles/35kms across bog, field and road. Robbie recently did the walk to make sure all is in order and he mentioned that some parts are still very wet. He suggest wearing trail runners/boots for these parts. Don't worry if you don't have these, I always do it in runners and it's fine, your feet dry out fast 😄. There will be lots of food, water and toilet stops and there will be support vehicles along the route. You can put all your bags into the vehicles so you don't need to carry anything. We also suggest bringing a change of clothes, change of footwear, two or more pairs of good socks, *suncream* and money for Campbells 😂. 22 miles can be daunting for some people but the best thing about the walk is you can do as little or as much as you want. The first 10 miles will be via field, and this will bring us up to Aughagower village. People can decide to join here or finish up. We also invite your family to meet you at this point. Any questions let me know. There is still lots of time for the other people in this group to sign up or for your family and friends to sign up
