There's still time to help shape the future of volunteering in Ireland, but the Irish Volunteering Index closes tomorrow, 31 October.

We want to know:
- What's going well in volunteering?
- What could be improved?
- What support do people need?
- Whether you're a volunteer or not, your perspective matters.

The results will help Waterford Volunteer Centre better understand volunteering across Waterford County and how we can support it in the future.

🍂🎃 Autumn Pumpkin Craft Workshop 🎃🍂

Join us for a cosy and creative autumn workshop led by our lovely volunteer, Rita Lima!

This time, we’ll be making our own soft, fluffy pumpkin decorations, perfect for adding a little autumn charm to your home! 🍁

Enjoy a relaxing morning, get creative with colours and textures, and have a lovely chat while making something by hand. At the end of the workshop, you’ll have your own handmade pumpkin decoration to take home.

No previous experience is needed, just come along, enjoy the process and spend a lovely morning together! 💛

🌟 Leadership is something we can all continue to develop.

Leadership is part of volunteering in more ways than we sometimes realise, from taking initiative and supporting others to building confidence and navigating challenges.

💬 Join us for Leadership Skills in Volunteering, an interactive two-hour workshop where we’ll explore practical skills, share experiences and learn together.

We want to hear from YOU! During registration, you can choose the topics you’re most interested in and share real-life situations you’d like to explore.

Our October Age Friendly Coffee & Connect morning!

It was wonderful to see so many people joining us today!

We were also delighted to welcome Maeve and Anne from Access IT (Access I.T.), who shared information about learning opportunities and chatted with our group about the benefits and risks of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Such a warm, friendly and informative morning, with plenty of lovely conversations!

RepairFest - taking place on 17th Oct at SETU Arena - is Waterford’s first celebration of repair and reuse, bringing people together to share skills, fix things, reduce waste and celebrate a more sustainable way of living.

We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help make RepairFest a success! Volunteers may assist with event stewardship, welcoming and guiding visitors, helping with workshop set-up and tidy-up, and supporting the smooth running of the event.
