HELP NEEDED

Today starts the National tidy towns competition and unfortunately we have fallen a small bit behind on a few tasks.

So we are looking for some help.

If you can spare an hour or two and day or evening this week, we would greatly appreciate it.

We have two major tasks left to do this week:

1: painting of the railings on clonmult terrace. We will be painting there tomorrow (Tuesday) from approximately 6pm to 9pm. Paint brushes will be provided.

2: The clearing and planting of the beds in Pad Desmond Park on the youghal rd across from Scoil Bhride.

If you are available to help on any of these two projects just show up tomorrow night or pop us a message with your availability here

Tonight saw our first delivery of summer bedding plants so planting has begun at the top of the town and around the monument in preparation for the start of the National Tidy Towns competition on the 1st of June.

We will continue on Sunday morning planting up the flower beds on the roundabout and finishing off the planters.

If you are interested in helping us plant up these beds why not pop along Sunday morning at 9am.

Great work done over the last few days. Our streets were cleaned of cigarette butts and litter in preparation of the judging this week of the anti litter challenge competition.

We would ask businesses and residents to ensure when putting out your wheelie bins for collection that the lids are firmly closed so that no rubbish can be pulled out from them.

Our flower planters and beds are being prepared for summer planting which will be happening in the next few weeks before the start of the National Tidy Towns competition on the 1st June.

If you would like to get involved and help in any way, why not pop along either on a Sunday morning at 9am or a Tuesday evening at 7pm by the Cork Rd bridge. We would love to see you.

A big thank you to the Midleton Girl Guides for coming out tonight to do a litter pick around the Baby’s Walk and in around the lodge.

Loads of tasks done tonight. Started cleaning out the barrels and beds for summer planting.

Litter pick also done on the Main Street and up around the schools on Youghal Td and Rosary place.

Graffiti was removed from the wildlife board at the bridge and the stone of Nellie Cashman cleaned.

We meet every Tuesday evening at 7pm and Sunday mornings at 9am by the bridge at the Cork Rd. Volunteers are always welcome.

Today marks the start of the Cork County Council anti litter challenge awards.

First round of judging takes place between today Monday 27th April to Friday 1st May.

We are asking all businesses and residents to please keep outside their premises litter and cigarette butt free to help us achieve good markings in this competition.

Our volunteers will be out most evenings this week from 7 to 8 pm ensuring that our town is at its best. All help is greatly appreciated.

The Midleton Tidy Towns team is proud to be part of the Anti-Litter Challenge– a friendly competition between towns, and a chance to show what community spirit really looks like 💚

📅 Judges will be visiting Midleton next week, and we need your help to make a strong impression!

Last year, we did incredibly well – but we lost points due to cigarette litter. This year, we can do even better with a small effort from everyone.

✨ Here’s how you can help:

* Pick up litter outside your home or business
* Organise a quick clean-up with your school or class
* Keep service areas and entrances tidy
* Dispose of cigarette butts responsibly 🚭

Every small action makes a big difference. Whether it’s a quick sweep outside your shop or a schoool clean-up, it all adds up.

Let’s work together to show the pride we have in our town and make Midleton the best it can be!

💚 Together, we can do better.
