Dromtarriffe Parish Hall is inviting the local community to come along to a public brainstorming meeting on Tuesday, 19th August at 7.30pm.

This is a great opportunity for people from Dromtarriffe and the surrounding areas to come together and share ideas about how we can make the most of the hall for our communities.

๐Ÿ’ก What activities would you like to see?
๐ŸŽถ What events would you take part in?
๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘งโ€๐Ÿ‘ฆ What could bring people of all ages together?
๐Ÿค What would make the hall a vibrant community space?

The Rathcoole Development Association is delighted to support this initiative. Community halls are so important to rural areas โ€” they give us a place to meet, socialise, organise activities and, most importantly, bring neighbours together.

If you have an idea, big or small, come along and have your say.

๐Ÿ“ข RATHCOOLE DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATION โ€“ 2026 PROGRESS UPDATE

Since January, the Rathcoole Development Association has been working hard to make a positive difference in our community.

There has been plenty happening behind the scenes, as well as practical work taking place around the village.

๐ŸŒฑ CLEAN-UPS & PLANTING

Our clean-up and litter-picking work is ongoing, with volunteers continuing to help keep the village looking its best.

We will also be looking at further planting and improvements to our flower beds and green areas from September onwards, depending on the weather and suitable planting conditions.

๐Ÿ’ถ FUNDRAISING

Our first fundraiser, a Yoga & Coffee Morning, raised roughly โ‚ฌ272.

We also have a church gate collection confirmed for 12th & 13th September in Dernagree & Dromagh.

๐Ÿ›๏ธ WORKING WITH CORK COUNTY COUNCIL

We have met with Cork County Council to discuss local infrastructure issues including footpaths, speed ramps, lighting and road safety.

We have also met with Bernard Moynihan regarding these and other important local issues, including water, sewage and mobile phone reception.

๐Ÿ“Œ NEW COMMUNITY NOTICE BOARD

A new local community notice board is being progressed and is expected to be installed before the end of October.

๐Ÿ“‹ FIVE-YEAR DEVELOPMENT PLAN

We have been working on our 2026โ€“2031 Five-Year Development Plan, setting out our goals and priorities for Rathcoole, including improvements to planting, signage, the bus stop, community facilities, infrastructure and green spaces.

๐Ÿค WE NEED MORE VOLUNTEERS!

The work we are doing depends on people in the community getting involved.

You don't have to commit to every meeting or take on a committee role. Even giving an hour of your time for a clean-up, planting day, fundraiser or community project can make a real difference.

If you have some time to spare, a skill you'd like to share, or simply want to help improve Rathcoole, we'd love to hear from you.

๐Ÿ“ฃ Your voice matters โ€” and your help matters too.

Come along to our community meeting, get involved and help us get more achieved for Rathcoole.

Together, we can make a difference. ๐Ÿ’ช

PLEASE SHARE:
A public meeting regarding the future of the air ambulance in Rathcoole will be held in Dromtarriffe Parish Hall on Friday night July 24th at 9pm.
Planning was granted to extend the runway and install lighting to allow the ambulance to operate at night if required. This was appealed and it is now with An Bord pleannala. There will be local representatives, an expert on the law pertaining to take off & landing of the air ambulance etc.
It is very important that people make their point of view known so please spread the word about this meeting, the air ambulance doesn't just serve Duhallow but all Munster so it's in every body's interest to have their say on this issue.

Hi all,
Please be aware that there were attempted robberies in Rathcoole Village last night. A number of cars, including my own, as well as garages, were targeted.

The individuals involved were reportedly driving a silver Hyundai Tucson, believed to be around a 2008 model.

If you notice anything suspicious on your property, please contact the Gardaรญ and report it so they can investigate and follow up.

Please also ensure that all vehicles are locked and that any valuables are removed or kept out of sight.

Thank you, and please stay vigilant.
