We raise our families here, contribute to our communities and make Ireland our home.

But proposed changes to citizenship could make it harder for migrants, refugees and others who have built their lives here to secure their future in Ireland.

The proposed changes include longer waiting periods, income barriers and new requirements that could make citizenship harder to access.

Having a secure immigration status matters. It gives people the security and stability to build their lives here, plan for their future and fully participate in Irish society.
