Thank you to those members, family and friends of Killarney Rotary Club who helped out at this event and most importantly to all the people who bought tickets to attend another sell out year. Rotary Ireland District 1160 Annual Conference
2026.

What an amazing weekend was had by all attending this conference under the leadership of District Governor George Roche and his entire team in Cork Bishopstown Rotary Club along with the huge support of Rotary Cork who celebrated 100 years since their club was chartered in 1926 and Rotary Club of Douglas, Cork, Ireland.

Attendees from clubs all over Ireland along with England, Scotland and the US attended. The theme was Personal Health and wow!!!! There was a fantastic line up of speakers who gave wonderful presentation on personal health matters sending us home with information overload on how to take care of ourselves and also some speakers covering Rotary projects and giving an update on funds raised by Rotary Ireland clubs to help the recent Nepal disaster. The stands at the event had wonderful information available as well as the VHI where you could do a health check.

The evening events were great fun and meeting other like minded people was great. We were there to share ideas, socialise and make new friends over the few days. The Gala Ball was attended by Rotary International representatives as well as our Taoiseach Micheál Martin who was DG George's Guest of Honour. A great excuse to dress up and put on the dancing shoes. Dancing went on late into the night with a fantastic nine piece band entertaining the huge crowd in attendance.

We were lucky it was close to home this year as last year was a long drive to Portrush but also fantastic and we are looking forward to next years conference already.

It really is all about Service Above Self and Creating an Impact and we are proud Killarney Rotary Club was represented by some of the members who thoroughly enjoyed the conference and met up with other Presidents/Past Presidents and members of Rotary Ireland Zone 9 clubs.

President Yolande welcomed PDG Adrian and his Rotarian wife Shirley from the Rotary Club of Pinner in London to our weekly Rotary meeting.

It was very interesting to share ideas about club events and our upcoming Youth Leadership. We wish you both safe travels for the remainder of your trip.
