We celebrated member Marie's birthday recently (even if it was belated) 🎂🍰☕️🎉🎈🎊🎈🎁🎈♥️ Congratulations Marie. We wish you a very happy and healthy 2026/2027 until the next one comes around.

We call Rayla our 'Minister for Birthdays' and Rayla never forgets and hasn't for many, many years. When new members join the club their birth date (year is optional) is added to her ever growing list. It is lovely to celebrate with each other as sometimes people don't get to celebrate or may not have anybody to celebrate with so this is a real treat with our fellow members. Thank you also to the Great Southern team for their creativity and beautiful birthday presentation plate when required.

International Malala Day is celebrated globally every year on July 12 to champion the right of all children, especially girls, to receive a free, compulsory, and safe education. The United Nations officially designated this day to honor Pakistani activist Malala Yousafzai, recognizing her extraordinary bravery and tireless global advocacy for female empowerment. The day commemorates Malala’s historic 2013 address to the UN Youth Assembly, delivered on her 16th birthday, just months after she survived an assassination attempt by the Taliban. It is marked by human rights organizations and activists worldwide to advocate for the millions of children still denied their right to go to school.
