I want to share with you a brand new 4 week program promoting vocal confidence in a fun and supportive environment with Grace Foley who was one of our Killarney Rotary Club Young Musician of the Year overall winners many years ago. 😊

Have a little look and see if you or someone you know might like to take part 🌞

Congratulations Stuart - 60 years - wow!!!!

Stuart joins us at our meetings regularly when he is in Ireland and in particular in Killarney visiting family. He has been a friend of ours for many, many years and we enjoy his visits.

It is great that Rotarians can visit any club worldwide when they travel and get a BIG welcome.

We have some milestones ourselves this year in Killarney Rotary Club which was chartered in 1983.

Tonight we celebrate the commitment of Stuart Watson, who has received his Long Service Award for an amazing 60 years with The Rotary Club of Inverurie. Thank you Stuart, for your unwavering service to this Club and to our Community πŸ’™

Killarney Rotary Club is delighted to meet International Rotarians when they are visiting Killarney.

Our member Ciara (who is an Assistant Governor in District 1160) recently met up with John & Gayle Rufli from Kentucky. John is also an Assistant Governor. They spent the evening discussing both clubs projects and fundraisers and AG roles.

We hope you had an enjoyable trip in Ireland and a safe journey home.

We were delighted to have Scoil Phobail Sliabh Luachra 5th year student Tommy O'Connor join us at our most recent lunch meeting at the Great Southern Killarney. Tommy was our Club winner in the Rotary Ireland Youth Leadership Development Competition. Tommy went on to win one of twenty places nationally on the trip to Belfast where the group visited Stormont, Dublin visits to Leinster House & Europe House and then on to Strasbourg to take part in Euroscola at the European Parliament and visit the European Court of Human Rights. Tommy gave a very detailed presentation of his experience and told Rotary how he has grown and what he learned from this opportunity. Tommy was accompanied by his mum and his teacher.

We also invited two other students Eoin O'Mahony & Jayden Bowler from St Brendans College who were in our Club final to join us with their teacher. We invite schools from the Killarney area aswell as outlying areas and following a very very busy first round we then have a Club final. It is a wonderful programme for students and to find out more check out www.rotary.ie (Youth Leadership Development Competition) or speak to any of our Rotary members.

Thank you to all our members who give their time voluntarily to ensure we can hold this competition annually. A special thank you to Marie for taking over this year as our Club co ordinator of the competition. She will be in touch with the schools again at the beginning of the next school year.

Welcome to the May edition of Rotary Magazine! πŸ“°πŸ™Œ

This month's edition focuses closely on Rotary’s number one humanitarian goal of eradicating polio for good 🌍

Our feature stories look closer at the decision by the UK Government to scrap funding to the Global Polio Eradication Initiative at a time when there have been polio detections in England, plus we share fund raising tips from Rotary clubs around the world to help towards the End Polio Now campaign.

This edition is also packed full of your amazing stories of Rotary service both here in Great Britain and Ireland and around the world.
