A series of green waste fly-tipping of hedge clippings, trees, and green waste has recently taken place on the Bog Walks. We would like to bring it to the attention of those involved that this practice is strictly illegal under the Waste Management Acts and Litter Pollution Acts in Ireland. Even though garden clippings are "natural" materials, discarding them on a mountain or blanket bog constitutes fly-tipping and carries the exact same penalties as dumping household rubbish. Help protect our local environment by reporting any sightings or fly-tipping anonymously to Kerry County Council on 066 716 2000, the Environmental Hotline at 1800 326 228, or via email at [email protected].
