Firies Community Games Firies Community Games is run by volunteers to provide participation in sports and culture for child

Firies Community Games was founded in 1973 by Jack Crowley, Jerry Foley, and Seamus O’Brien. The first local sports day was held in Penders Field, Ballyhar in May 1974. In these early years, athletics was often the only activity Firies entered, Firies Community Games began to flourish in the 1990s and still provides sporting and cultural competition for young people from Firies, Ballyhar and Farranfore.

Last Friday evening we held a very fun and successful evening of running and throwing.
While the weather didn't really play its part, the racing and fun certainly did and it looks like we'll be represented by a good team of athletes for the County Finals.
Well done to all who took part and good luck to those who make the Firies Community Games team.
