There’s something special about sitting around a table, making something with your hands and sharing a few stories

Today we made surf bracelets with the wonderful Niamh — our new craft facilitator.

Niamh brought so much creativity and enthusiasm to the workshop, and it was genuinely a pleasure to collaborate with her. We’re so excited to have her share her skills and ideas with us!

And this is what our creative workshops are all about — trying, learning, creating, connecting and having fun.

You don’t need to be crafty. You just need to be curious. 💙

Community Volunteers Needed This Saturday in Naas!

We’re looking for community volunteers to join us at a big community event in Naas this Saturday, at the County Council building.

It’s a day we always love celebrating with our amazing volunteers, who play such an important part in making the event happen.

Expect lots of free activities, fun for all the family, and a wonderful opportunity to see how this special event is celebrated — and be part of it yourself! 🙌

Calling all Volunteers in Tourism
Become an Ireland’s Ancient East Champion

Fáilte Ireland is inviting everyone who currently volunteers in tourism or hospitality to join the free Ireland’s Ancient East Champions Programme workshop for County Kildare. This would include volunteering at attractions, events, festivals, gardens etc or in any role where you engage with visitors or contribute to making Kildare a welcoming destination. This workshop is a great opportunity to:
* build local product knowledge
* strengthen customer service skills
* grow confidence in engaging with visitors
* connect with others volunteering in tourism
The session brings together Know Your Destination and Inclusive Customer Service training to help create exceptional visitor experiences and a warm welcome for visitors to Kildare.
Date: Thursday, June 18th
Time: 5.30pm - 8.00pm (Registration begins at 5.00pm & refreshments will be served)
Venue: Solas Bride Centre, Tully Road, Kildare Town, Co. Kildare, R51 Y281

Feed Kildare is currently looking for volunteers to support their work helping individuals and families experiencing food insecurity across County Kildare.

There are a variety of roles available, including:

🤝 Community Support Volunteer
Help create a welcoming and supportive environment for visitors.

🚗 Food Collection Volunteer (Driver)
Collect and transport donated food from local partners.

📦 Operations Volunteer
Support the day-to-day running of the social supermarket.

💻 Administration & Communications Volunteer
Assist with social media, administration, communications, and volunteer coordination.

📋 Fundraising & Grant Support Volunteer
Help research funding opportunities and support fundraising efforts.

✨ No formal qualifications are required for most roles — training and support are provided.

What a wonderful day for Kildare Town!

Kildare Volunteer Centre was absolutely delighted to be part of the celebrations marking the reopening of St. Brigid’s Round Tower. It was fantastic to see this important piece of our heritage welcoming visitors once again and to join so many members of the community for this special occasion.

We were also honoured to have the opportunity to meet Catherine Connolly and share in a day that highlighted the rich history, culture, and community spirit that make Kildare so special.

A sincere thank you to everyone involved in bringing this landmark project to life. We look forward to seeing many people enjoy and explore St. Brigid’s Round Tower for years to come.
