We’re opening the doors to the lifeboat station from 2pm-5pm for our Open Day.

Come down and meet our volunteer crew, tour the lifeboats, meet our water safety team and see behind the scenes at the station.

Admission is free and everyone is welcome.

We’re opening the doors at Howth Lifeboat Station this Saturday, 5 September, and everyone is welcome to come along! 🌊⚓️

Come down and meet our volunteer lifeboat crew, get a closer look at our lifeboats and see what goes on behind the scenes at your local RNLI station.

Last weekend, the Dublin Bay Old Gaffers Association sailors visited Howth by water and land to end their season afloat. They generously donated €2,470 to Howth RNLI collected during their Winter talks at Poolbeg Yacht & Boat Club. Fantastic supporters !
Thanks to Cormac Lowth and many other speakers for the very interesting talks.

Lifeguard Stations Operational 27 August 2026 to 30 August 2026 11.00 to 19.00hrs

• Balbriggan Beach(Friday & Sunday)
• South Beach, Skerries(Saturday & Sunday)
• Loughshinny Beach(Sunday)
• South Beach, Rush (Not Friday)
• Balcarrick Beach, Donabate
• Malahide Beach (Constant Red Flag)
• Portmarnock Beach
• The Burrow Beach, Sutton

• Beach users are asked to only swim in the designated areas which will be marked with flags.
• Parents and guardians of small children are advised to keep watch over their children at all times.
• Please do not bring inflatable toys to the beach. These should never be used in open water as they can be swept away by currents and offshore breezes.
• Water quality information will be available on the beach noticeboard and also available on beaches.ie
• Remember alcohol consumption is not allowed on our beaches and can seriously compromise personal safety around water.
• Please do not bring BBQ’s to our beaches, as they can lead to serious burns if left behind.
• Take your rubbish home with you, if our bins are full, and help keep our beaches safe for all users.

Where an area is not being lifeguarded and you get into trouble or see someone else in difficulty, dial 999 or 112 and ask for the Coast Guard.

We’re thrilled to announce that **Series 11** of *Saving Lives at Sea* starts **Tuesday 18th August at 8pm on BBC Two**! 🚨

Once again, we’ll be alongside the incredible volunteers of the RNLI as they face some of the most challenging rescues around the UK - from dramatic callouts at sea to the quieter moments that show just what it means to be part of a lifeboat crew.

**Real rescues. Real people. Extraordinary volunteers.**
