Damien will hopefully return from his mighty trip on Friday evening, approximately 8pm on June 26th 2026.
It would be great to have some of his old cubs to welcome him at the Howth RNLI public slip.

"My trip will start in Howth, and take me 1450 Km around the Irish coastline. Along the way I’ll have to negotiate the notorious West Coast, and headlands with charming names such as “Mizen Head” and “Bloody Foreland”. Damian passed the 1,000 KM mark this week!

As we prepare for another 2026, with .
This year will be the fifth year Howth Scout Group attends the Dublin pride parade with scouting Ireland. Since in person Pride celebrations resumed post COVID in 2022, HSG have proudly marched alongside other members of scouting Ireland to show we are a scout group that welcomes our LGBTQ+ members.
We are always striving to make Howth a more inclusive and accessible group!

We asked our own Rover & Leader for a few words on his experience.

"Scouting supported me in growing into the person I am today. It was the first environment where my relationship with my peers and my ability to participate was unaffected by me being gay.
Anyone could be friends with anyone and everyone was just as capable regardless of gender, sexuality, or any other factor. This helped me to develop confidence in my identity and become more independent. It’s also where I formed some of my strongest friendships, many of which with other LGBTQ+ young people who stuck with scouts for the same reasons I did."
