We know our Tuesday litter picks don’t suit everyone, especially those who are working during the week — and that’s completely understandable.

So this week we’re organising a Saturday litter pick as well, in the hope that more people can join us for an hour and help keep Dunlavin looking its best. Hopefully this can be continued going forward and also lead to a situation where people meet up without a formal call out.

Every bit really does count, and even a small turnout makes a big difference to the town.

Tuesday, May 12 at 10am (meeting at 1798 monument)

Saturday, May 16 at 10am (meeting at 1798 monument)

We’d love to see a few new faces out with us!

It’s only May, but we are already thinking ahead to our Christmas Fair! 🎄

Over the past decade, Linda Darker and Rosella Doherty have grown the Dunlavin Christmas Fair into one of the biggest and best community Christmas fairs in West Wicklow; a huge credit to their hard work and the fantastic team behind the scenes.

After ten brilliant years, both ladies are ready to hang up their Christmas Fair boots, and we are now looking for a few enthusiastic people to help lead the event into the future and ensure this wonderful community tradition continues.

The good news is that there is already a very well-oiled system in place, along with an experienced team on hand to help make it happen; we just need a few people willing to take the lead.

It’s always great fun and a hugely rewarding community event! If you are interested, please contact us through our page or message Kathleen on 086 858 9169.

Our 2026 Tidy Towns application has officially been submitted.

A big thank you to everyone who has helped out so far this year, whether that’s coming to clean ups, picking litter, planting flowers or even just helping keep the town looking well day to day.
It all adds up.

We’ve lots more planned over the coming months, including more clean ups, so make sure to follow the page to keep up to date with what we’re up to and how you can get involved.

Every bit of help makes a difference.

Dunlavin Library will temporarily close , from Saturday 18th April.

Dunlavin Library, located in the local Market House, will close on Saturday, 18th April for a period of approximately five months. The closure is necessary to allow for additional works identified during recent roofing repairs. These works will bring significant improvements to the much-loved local building, particularly in terms of accessibility. As part of the refurbishment , the interior steps within the building will be removed and replaced with a level floor throughout, making the space easier to access for all members of the community. Plans are also in place to clean the exterior of the building and to install underfloor heating, which will greatly improve comfort for library users. While the closure will be an inconvenience to many regular visitors, the upgrades will ensure that the library remains a welcoming and accessible space at the heart of the community for years to come.

Remember, your library membership is valid in all Wicklow library branches. For all Wicklow library opening hours and services please visit our website ↩️

It's the time of year to get rolling with our Pure Mile campaign! We have covered a huge area each year and we expect this year to be no different. We are looking for people to help us in being "Mile Leaders".

What's involved in being a Mile Leader? All you need to do is pass out leaflets (which we will provide) to your neighbours, then we will deliver the blue bags and a few litter pickers to you in time for the big clean-up day of 1st March.

You don't need to worry about disposing of what's collected. We will collect all the rubbish.

Get involved - it's an enjoyable weekend, chatting with neighbours and of course many hands make light work! If you can help out being a Mile Leader please message the page or text 087 962 7389.
