The IIEA will next week host an important discussion entitled “The Resurgence of Torture: New Realities in International Relations”, with Dr. Alice Edwards, United Nations Special Rapporteur on Torture ( ).

Dr. Edwards - the first woman to hold this mandate in its 40-year history - will offer unique insights from her work documenting human rights violations and advocating for justice across global conflict zones, as well as reflections on the persistence and evolution of torture in modern conflicts.
