A huge thank you to the young people from Youth Work Ireland Tipperary who took part in our workshop last week.

The workshop created space for young people, particularly those whose voices are often less heard, to share their lived experiences of inclusion and exclusion while growing up in Ireland. We heard honest reflections about belonging, language barriers, the positive role of youth work youth work services and actions that help young people feel welcomed, valued and included.

📍 Location: Louth
💼 Full-time | Hybrid role (35 hours/week)

In this role, you’ll deliver programmes that promote mental health, emotional resilience, leadership, and wellbeing in schools, youth clubs, and community settings.

We were happy to attend the Child and Youth Mental Health Roundtable hosted by Mary Lou McDonald - Sinn Féin , David Cullinane T.D. and S***a Clarke TD. in Leinster House today. We highlighted the importance of recognising youth work as a vital social infrastructure and a proven prevention and early intervention service that supports young people's mental health and wellbeing. We also highlighted the need for long-term investment in youth work services to support the Youth Work for All vision whereby every young person, in every community, has the opportunity to access quality youth work.

Last week Tracey Mc Ardle represented Youth Work Ireland at two key events hosted by the Embassy of Ireland in Latvia and Sarunu festivāls LAMPA. Tracey drew on her extensive experience supporting young people through the OUR Generation project to share insight into the realities of gender based violence and youth participation. Tracey also joined experts from Finland and Denmark for “From Anxiety to Action: Hope as a Solution”, exploring how trust, belonging, and community resilience help people move from uncertainty to action. Her contributions highlighted how youth work and trauma informed practices can support young people to feel heard, safe, and empowered.

This was a fantastic opportunity to share and showcase the breadth of Youth Work Ireland’s work, highlighting how our national network creates safe, inclusive, and empowering spaces where all young people.
