As comes to a close, we would like to thank the various employers across Dublin, Limerick and North Tipperary Offaly who have opened doors and provided fantastic opportunities for supported individuals to learn, develop their full potential and progress on their journey to paid employment.

One such employer is Dunboyne Castle Hotell, Michael and the team at the busy hotel, have supportAvistasta’s WorkAbility programme from day one.

Vincent glows at the star studded Festival de Cannes ✨

Vincent from Avista TEES Limerick, flew to France this week to attend the Cannes Film Festival and represented his Screenability programme colleagues, Matthew, Mary, Marie and Laura who were nominated for an Economic and Social Impact Award, in recognition of their work with ScreenAbility and Film In Limerick on the latest film ‘Once Upon a Time In a Cinema.’

This has been an incredible experience for Vincent and he enjoyed every minute of his travels. ✈️🚊💺

From day one, Vincent has loved being part of this Programme. He first received a tour of Studios, in 2024, meeting Rachael and Paul in Film in Limerick and participating in all the workshops to get a more rounded look at the film industry and finding pathways to paid employment within that.

Vincent was truly treated as a film star, and he said it was a trip of a lifetime. He was in the company of producers and directors from Universal Studios Hollywood, Netflix and various international production companies on the night and is excited about what the future brings. 🎬

Last year, Celine decided that she wanted a job that allowed her to work with animals every day, because animals make her happy.

She worked alongside her Avista Employment Supporter, Amanda and they approached Sandra and the team at Petzown Muddy Paws Nenagh, to see if they would be open to taking part in Avista's .

One year on, Celine is now a paid member of the team and she is loving every minute of interacting with customers and pets alike.

We couldn't be prouder. 👏

Job Shadow Week at the Houses of the Oireachtas 🪉

Earlier this week, Danny, Elio, and Franziska took part in a very exciting work experience day with Senator Fiona O'Loughlin
The team had the chance to talk about their experience of work to date and the barriers that exist for people with disabilities who wish to access employment opportunities in Dublin, Limerick and North Tipperary/Offaly.

The team shadowed the Senator as part of Avista’s WorkAbility hashtag and worked alongside her parliamentary team to support administration tasks in her very busy office.

Seeing Seanad Éireann in session has been such a valuable experience for all 3 individuals. A great opportunity to learn more about public service, policy, and leadership in action.

It's officially Avista Job Shadow Week 2026!

Job Shadow Week gives people with disabilities the opportunity to shadow a workplace mentor as they go about a working day. It’s designed to give people with disabilities in Dublin, Limerick, North Tipperary and Offaly the unique opportunity to get a close-up look at the world of work. This week helps to break down barriers, promote inclusion and helps to create a pathway to employment.

If your workplace or business would like to get involved, we would love to hear from you!

Avista’s Community Residential Services in Limerick recently hosted a sunflower planting party to celebrate 100 years of service. 🌻

Sunflowers are well known for symbolising happiness, positivity and resilience, so what better way to mark this year’s centenary.

This team of green fingered experts have ensured the perfect environment full of sunlight, so each seedling has the opportunity to blossom over the months ahead.

We can’t wait to check back in with the team later this summer to see how they get on! ☀️
