Today is Friday, the best day of the week for maximizing your rewards and enhancing your spiritual growth.
There are many recommended practices for Jumu’ah that can help us excel on this blessed day.
However, there is ONE among them that can bring us maximum benefit for our afterlife, and it is of utmost importance in the eyes of Allah.
Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said:
“When it is Friday, the angels stand at every door of the mosque and record the people in the order of their arrival.
And when the Imam sits (on the pulpit for delivering the sermon) they fold up their sheets and listen to the mention (of Allah).
And he who comes early is like one who offers a she-camel as a sacrifice, the next like one who offers a cow, the next a ram, the next a hen, the next an egg.”
(Sahih Muslim 850)
Think of the honor an employee feels whose boss appreciates their work mentioning their name in front of the whole staff.
Or ask yourself how honored you would feel if someone of high stature knew you by name.
Now imagine the honor of having your name recorded at the top of the list— by angels who will be presenting that list to Allah!
Even if you can’t arrive first despite your best efforts, Allah promises great Ajr for the first five people who enter the mosque for Jumu’ah prayer.
Remember, the higher up your name is on the record, the greater the reward!
