WE'RE SO BACK!
Return to form was the theme yesterday at Irishtown IMC as the lads all delivered strong performances despite the wet and windy conditions.
William Fitzgerald sporting a new "Fitzy" hairstyle made all the right moves in the 5000m. Will took to the front at half way and pressed the pace until 600m to run, for a fine 14:17 SB 4th, his 2nd fastest time and 9s off a PB.
Oisín Davis was making his track 5000m debut and hung well with the lead group until 4km when the loss of a few weeks training due to a ni**le in varsities showed. He rallied well to finish with 14:29 track PB (his road PB is 14:13).
Jordan Walsh was next in the B 5000m and he did exactly what he set out to achieve, running through 3km in 9:20 to finish with a massive PB of 15:35, a 20s PB.
Jack Miskella was next in the A 1500m and Jack took on the race for the field. The peleton passed him with 400m to go but he got a second wind and finished with a huge season's best of 3:52.96.
Last up for Craughwell was Kyle "Money" Moorhead in the A 800m. The conditions worsened for Kyles race. Kyle got stuck right in to the class field, getting out hard. His improving fitness started to show as he continued to run strongly through the vital last 200m and closed with a fine 1:52.40, his fastest time in a year and 3rd fastest ever.
