Clonmel Cycling Club is a friendly, community-based club focused on staying healthy, cycling safely, and enjoying the social side of the sport. We are fully affiliated with Cycling Ireland, which means our members benefit from official ride guidelines, a structured environment, and essential insurance coverage while out on the road. Our membership is open all year round, and we welcome everyone regardless of your background or current skill level. Whether you are dusting off an old bike to build up your confidence or you are an experienced rider looking for a fast group to build endurance, we have a group to suit you. There is a lot more to our club than just turning up for a Sunday morning spin. We keep active throughout the year with a wide range of activities and events for our members. What we do
Weekly Sunday spins: We meet at the TUS Sports Hub every Sunday morning. We run four different groups sorted by speed and distance, so you can choose a pace you are comfortable with. No one gets left behind, and e-bikes are more than welcome. Training & winter sessions: To help keep fitness up when the weather turns, we organise winter turbo sessions and yoga for cyclists classes. We also run handy workshops covering bike maintenance, puncture repairs, and basic first aid. Social events & trips: Cycling is a great way to meet people. We regularly travel to Sportives around the country, organise an annual club holiday, and meet up for our Christmas night out. Local events: We support the local community and host the annual Cyclocross Clonmel event down at Powerstown Park. Mandatory gear
For everyone's safety on the road, you will need to bring a few basics to join our group spins:
A cycling helmet: This is strictly mandatory—no helmet, no ride. A roadworthy bike: Your bicycle needs to be in good, safe working order. Puncture kit: Please carry a spare inner tube that fits your wheels, tyre levers, and a mini-pump. The right clothing: Layers suited to the Irish weather and bright or high-visibility clothing are highly recommended. Newcomers are always welcome to come along for up to three trial spins before officially signing up. When you are ready to join, membership registration and your Cycling Ireland Licence are handled easily online. You can check our weekly departure times, ask questions, or see what we are up to by visiting the Clonmel Cycling Club page or our Instagram Hub.
