Sometimes, having someone there to listen can make all the difference.

Samaritans volunteers provide a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space for people who need someone to talk to. Whether someone is feeling lonely, overwhelmed or going through a difficult time, volunteers are there to listen with compassion and understanding.

As a Samaritans volunteer, you’ll be part of a caring community dedicated to making sure no one has to face difficult times alone.

You don’t need previous experience. Full training and ongoing support are provided, helping you build the skills and confidence you need for this important role.

This August, our community will come together to remember one of Killala GAA’s great clubmen, Eddie Walsh.

Eddie was a larger-than-life character whose warmth, humour and dedication left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. He gave so much to our club and our community, and this walk is a chance for us all to honour his memory in the best way possible, by coming together.

The Eddie Walsh Memorial Walk will take place on Sunday 16th August starting at 12:30pm from Killala Community Centre.

All proceeds will go to two incredibly deserving causes:
🌻 Sunflower Children’s Hospice
💙 Mayo Mental Health Association

Whether you walk the full route or simply come along to show your support, your presence will help celebrate Eddie’s life while making a real difference to others.
