Mayo Cancer Support Association held its AGM at Rock Rose House last Thursday, July 30th at 7pm where we presented our Directors' Report and Financial Statement for the year 2025 - reflecting on an incredible 12 months for our charity.
In her presentation to the meeting, the chairperson of our Board of Directors Joan Fitzgerald, noted the ongoing strong demand for our wide-ranging cancer support services at Rock Rose House and in our outreach clinics in Ballina and Achill.
She said it was reassuring to know that despite a year of incredible growth and development - Mayo Cancer Support has stayed true to its ethos and maintained an atmosphere of warmth, welcome and safety for all those who use its services.
A representative of the charity's auditors, RBK, went through the financial statements and noted that the charity was in a strong financial position at the end of 2025.
Ms Fitzgerald stressed that significant challenges lie ahead for Mayo Cancer Support including the fact that Rock Rose House is now at capacity due to growing demand for the charity's services.
She paid tribute to the charity's staff for their dedication and professionalism; its volunteers and board members and its community partners - particularly Mayo GAA for having chosen Mayo Cancer Support as its charity partner in 2025 and 2026.
In conclusion Ms Fitzgerald gave special acknowledgement of the clients of Mayo Cancer Support, saying it is their courage that inspires the charity's mission.
