What a fantastic day yesterday at the Sligo Community Games!

The sun shone, the athletes amazed us, and everyone looked fantastic in their new CSA gear, kindly sponsored by Dennis Durcan from Durcan Building & Carpentry.

A huge shout-out to the Sligo Community Games Committee and all our CSA volunteers for their hard work and support throughout the day. We were delighted to win medals across a wide range of events and are so proud of all our competitors who took part.

A special thank you to Alex for coordinating the relay teams, which were extremely successful this year. 🧡

🏆 Our Mixed U10 Relay team won the John McGetrick Cup – a proud moment for CSA as the first-ever recipients of this cup, awarded in memory of a very special man. 🧡

Best of luck to all competitors who qualified for the Regional Finals in Athlone on 18th July, and to those who qualified directly for the National Finals in Carlow at the end of August. We know you'll do us proud! 🧡

Huge congratulations to our U15 Girls Soccer Team who finished as runners-up in the Community Games County Finals yesterday. What a fantastic achievement and a performance to be proud of! 🧡⚽

🏆A special word of congratulations also to our U12 Boys Team, who were crowned County Champions! 🏆🧡

They will now go on to represent Sligo in the Connacht Finals on 25th July. Best of luck, boys!

It was a great experience for all involved to play in The Showgrounds and create lasting memories.
A sincere thank you to all the parents, coaches and supporters for their dedication, encouragement and commitment.

A massive well done to the team on winning the Modern Dance Competition for Cornageeha/St. Anne’s Community Games on Sunday. Their dedication, energy, and teamwork shone through on the day! ✨
They have now secured their place at the National Finals in September, where they will proudly represent Sligo Community Games. 🙌

Huge congratulations to our U14 Mixed Tag Rugby County Champions on their victory this evening! 🧡🧡
The matches were very tightly contested, with two highly skilled and worthy opponents, Aughanagh and Skreen/Dromard.
The players displayed outstanding athleticism, determination, teamwork and sportsmanship throughout, making for a fantastic evening of Tag Rugby.
A sincere thank you to the coaches for their dedication and encouragement in supporting the team.
And also a special thanks to the referee for taking the time to explain the rules and the decisions made, and for helping to make the games a great learning experience for all the players.
We wish the team every success representing Sligo in the Connacht Finals on 25th July.

Well done to all the children from CSA that took part in the recent Art, Model Making and Handwriting County finals. Oisin, Matthew, Tom and Holly won medals for art and Ben won a medal for Model Making. Best of luck to all who have now qualified for the National Finals by placing in the top two.
