How does the body become a vessel for resistance when words are silenced?
Mehdi Dahkan’s movement and sound performance, Kms of Resistance, explored this very question, using breath and the language of the body to create a space for collective action at the Tétényi út Shopping Center.
Drawing from the Moroccan Aïta tradition, Mehdi Dahkan and Mohamed Bouriri were joined by two Hungarian dancers, Balázs Oláh and Máté Váth, to build a devastating rhythmic sequence—without protest songs or slogans. Their synchronized breathing, a symbol of both fragility and struggle, built a bridge between the contexts of resistance across different cultures.
