Virgin Oil Press Ltd., the company behind the Grapoila brand, has been engaged in the innovative processing of oilseeds for more than 16 years. The company is one of Hungary’s leading producers of cold-pressed oils, and its products are now available in more than 30 countries. Sustainability, a zero-waste approach, and the full utilization of raw materials are at the core of its operations. Grapoila’s story began in 2009, when the company’s founder, Marianna Pinczés, started processing grape pomace, a by-product of winemaking. Cold-pressed oil is produced from the grape seeds, while the remaining materials generated during the pressing process are transformed into seed butters, gluten-free flours, cosmetic ingredients, and feed supplements. Over the years, the product portfolio has expanded continuously: today, the company produces oils from 21 different types of nuts and seeds, as well as seed flours, 100% seed butters, natural cosmetics, and pet food supplements. Their product innovations include a plant-based beverage made from sunflower seed flour, gluten-free crackers, vegan mayonnaise, and vegan chocolate enriched with seed flour. Grapoila’s mission is to introduce sustainable technologies based on natural ingredients to an ever-wider audience and to demonstrate that oilseeds can truly provide “a handful of health” in everyday nutrition, in many different forms.
