As we celebrate International Women’s Day, we have two powerful MDW stories of survival, strength, and sisterhood—empowered by .hk at Branches of Hope. ✨
Lynn endured years of forced labour, excessive hours, hunger, and dehumanizing demands, leading to panic attacks and trauma. She resigned, rebuilt, and through STOP’s Empowerment Program learned her rights, negotiation skills, and self-care. Now she volunteers in STOP Outreach, sharing knowledge to protect others.
Grace arrived in 2018 to support her family. After six kind years, her next employer turned violent. She bravely reported the abuse to police, escaped, filed a case, and found support with STOP. With special visa permission to stay and find new work here, she rebuilt. Today she joins STOP workshops proudly: “STOP provided financial & moral support and advice. The workshops taught me my rights as a domestic worker and what to do if abuse happens.”
From pain to purpose—Lynn & Grace now lift others, proving knowledge to the community.
This , their shared message: Care for ourselves inside & out, build strength, raise our voices, and stand as examples—so we shape a just, inclusive society together. 🌸
STOP empowers MDWs with education, protection, and pathways to dignity. No one faces exploitation alone.
