鄭永華於 1948 年出生於咸鏡北道，1979 年畢業於平壤美術大學，並於中央美術創作社深耕多年，曾任油畫團團長。他於 1988 年憑藉經典油畫作品《母親》榮獲國家美術展一等獎，並於 1992 年獲頒「功勳藝術家」榮譽稱號，作品亦曾多次在莫斯科美術展等國際舞台上獲獎並深獲好評。其代表作品包括《母親》、《平壤的晚上》、《早晨》、《金剛山的松樹》及《湖水靜悄悄》等。
而今次慈善藝術展覽「從另一個角度看朝鮮」展出的作品《故鄉的明月》—參觀者可以透過作品中色彩的精緻交織，觀賞這位藝術家如何將平凡的日常場景與自然風光昇華，賦予畫面強烈的生命力與詩意。
以「朝鮮」為主題的展覽在香港極為罕有，而且大部分作品更開放予藝術愛好者購藏，其售出作品之部分收益將撥捐香港藝術中心，用作支持本地藝術及文化發展。

Born in Hamgyong North Province in 1948, Jeong Yeong Hwa graduated from the Pyongyang University of Fine Arts in 1979 and worked extensively at the Central Art Creation Society, where he served as the head of the Oil Painting Group. In 1988, he won First Prize at the National Art Exhibition for his masterpiece “Mother” and was awarded the prestigious title of "Merited Artist" in 1992. His works have also earned accolades and high acclaim at international showcases, including exhibitions in Moscow. His celebrated works include “Mother”, “Pyongyang Evening”, “Morning”, “Pine Trees of Mount Kumgang” and “Quiet Lake”.
In this Charitable Art Exhibition "Reframing North Korea”, we are honoured to present his featured piece of “Moonlight in My Hometown”. Visitors can marvel at the refined interplay of colours and how the artist elevates everyday moments and natural scenery into a poetic, visually exuberant narrative.
Exhibitions centred around this theme are exceptionally rare in Hong Kong. Most artworks on display are available for acquisition, with a portion of the proceeds donated to the Hong Kong Arts Centre to support local arts and cultural development.
