🦈💚🌿 Is your skincare shark-safe? 🧴🔍

❓Did you know that squalene, an ingredient commonly found in face creams and other skincare products, was once primarily sourced from sharks? 🦈 While many brands now use plant-based alternatives 🌱, labels don’t always reveal where the ingredient comes from!

🎥 Watch young student Serena’s video for tips on making more informed, shark-safe skincare choices! 💚 Look for vegan and plant-based claims 🌿, cruelty-free labels 🐰, and check brand websites for ingredient sourcing. 🔎✨

🙏A big thank you to Serena for creating this informative video and kindly allowing NGO Hong Kong Shark Foundation 香港護鯊會 to share it! 💙🙌 We’d also like to thank NGO You Foundation for sharing her work and giving Hong Kong Shark Foundation 香港護鯊會 a shout-out! 🌊🤝

🌏We love seeing young people use their creativity to make a difference for sharks and the ocean! 🦈💙

💚 Every choice counts. Choose shark-safe skincare!

On International Day of Climate Action on October 24, my amazing friend and climate activist Bobsy is hosting a special screening of the movie Samsara at Soho House Hong Kong, followed by a delicious plant-based buffet.

Samsara isn’t a traditional movie. There’s no dialogue, no actors and no conventional plot. Instead, it’s a breathtaking visual journey filmed in 70mm across 25 countries, taking us from sacred rituals and ancient traditions to stunning landscapes, cities, industry and the extraordinary complexity of human life—all accompanied by an incredible musical score.

It’s beautiful, thought-provoking and an absolute trip to watch. 🌏✨

From Awareness to Action: Turning Animal Lovers into Animal Advocates. 🫶

🫶 I’m delighted to be speaking at China Vegan Summit 2026, taking place October 16–18 in Shenzhen, China! https://www.chinavegans.org/2026

Drawing on my experience as Executive Director of Hong Kong Shark Foundation, I’ll explore how we can turn compassion for animals into meaningful action.

🦈 Through shark conservation and education, I’ve seen how raising awareness can inspire people — especially young people — to become advocates, influence others, and help create change.

🌱 Whether our passion is veganism, animal protection, wildlife conservation, or ocean conservation, we all have a role to play in building a kinder world.

❤️ Don’t just love animals. Use your voice for them.

📅 October 16–18, 2026📍 Shenzhen OCT Art amp; Culture Center, Shenzhen, China

Looking forward to connecting with fellow advocates and changemakers!
