🌟 SEND Jargon Buster Series: EHAP
Supporting a child with special educational needs or disabilities (SEND) can feel like learning a new language — acronyms everywhere, professional terms that sound confusing, and endless paperwork!
It’s time for our weekly jargon buster.

Today’s term is: EHAP

An Early Help Assessment and Plan (EHAP) is a voluntary process designed to identify and support the needs of a child (under 18) and their family at the earliest possible stage.

Are you dreading the summer holidays?
Do your children have different needs?
Are they always in conflict?

In this two hour online workshop, we will talk about understanding and helping to manage differences between the needs of siblings. We will be discussing different scenarios and consider how we can help our children live side-by-side.

The session will be led by Corrina from Platypus Training, who brings a wealth of personal and professional experience in neurodiversity. Corrina holds a Master’s degree in Autism and has worked for over 15 years as a Family Services Manager, developing services for families, children, and young people. She has extensive experience supporting families of children with both autism and ADHD.

The workshop will be recorded for those who are unable to attend live.

Please join us on 30th June at 7pm. To book your slot please click on the link in the comments below.

Today’s term is: EBSA

Emotionally based school avoidance (EBSA) is a term used to describe children and young people who experience significant and enduring challenges in attending school due to emotional factors.

It is not a diagnosis but a way to help us understand the needs of children who experience distress around attending school.
