Great Western Air Ambulance Charity (GWAAC) provide the critical care and air ambulance service for 2.1 million people across the counties of Bristol, Bath and North East Somerset, South Gloucestershire, Gloucestershire, North Somerset and parts of Wiltshire. From emergency blood transfusions to roadside amputations or treating cardiac arrests, our crew specialise in Pre-Hospital Emergency Medicin

e, bringing the skills and expertise of an Emergency Department to the patient. As a charity, we receive no day-to-day funding from the Government or National Lottery and need to raise over £4 million each year to stay operational.

Did you know that we bring the hospital Emergency Department to our patients? 🚁🏥

Our crew includes Critical Care Doctors as well as Specialist and Advanced Paramedics. 🩺

Whether flying or driving, they can perform interventions at the scene that would usually only take place in hospital. This early treatment can make all the difference when every second counts.

Last year, Great Western Hearts taught lifesaving skills to over 10,000 people 💙💚

That includes nearly 9,000 people learning CPR and how to use a defibrillator. These are the skills that can save a life before our crew even arrive.

Because in a cardiac arrest, those first few minutes matter most.
