It's time to think about CARNIVAL!

The Chipping Sodbury carnival (June 27th) gives a wonderful opportunity for schools, clubs and youth groups to develop links in the community, to promote personal development and add interest and excitement to the curriculum. In addition both children, young people, their families and staff have a great time as they are cheered on by crowds lining the street as it passes by.

This years’ theme is ‘Our Planet’ – so allow your children to be creative and work as a team to develop ideas ……
Our Planet could be;
• Space themes – linking to the recent Artemis mission, or to our solar system
• Environmental themes – reduce, reuse, recycle – how we can save our planet
• Our diverse planet - looking at different ecosystems or a focus on the diversity of local environments – our parks, streams and meadows
• Human diversity – celebrating the cultures within our society

There are no ‘rules’ on how entrants display these themes – they could walk, dance or sing in the parade showing off their work, or they could be on a motorised float if possible.

The festival is a celebration of life in our local community and who better to celebrate it than our young people? Our Carnival is open to groups and clubs of all ages and starts its parade at 3pm with prizes awarded at 4pm.

For more details please get in touch with our Club President [email protected] or on 01454 882655 and we can send you an application form.
