🧡🦺 NEW RDs ON THE BLOCK! 🦺🧡

Although familiar faces in our QEII family, recently we welcomed Dom and Jade to our core team and over the last two weeks they’ve both made their Run Director debuts! 🎉👏

They’ve both done a fantastic job, and we’re so pleased to have them on board helping make our Sunday mornings so special 🥰

💙 We have to say, the blue RD vest certainly suits Dom! 😂💙

📸 We managed to welcome Jade as RD without getting a photo of her in the RD vest! 🤦‍♀️😂 So, for now, please enjoy this artistic interpretation instead! 🎨🤣

We promise to put that right soon and bring you the real life RD vest evidence in due course 📸👀

Please join us in giving Dom and Jade a huge QEII well done on their RD debuts! 🧡👏

🍂🧡 QEII PLAYING FIELDS JUNIOR PARKRUN – EVENT #44! 🧡🍂

There was a definite autumnal feel in the crisp morning air at QEII today, but that didn’t stop us from having an absolutely amazing junior parkrun! 🍁👟

Our wonderful juniors brought the warmth with their smiles, determination and enthusiasm as they took on the 2k. From speedy strides to happy walks, every finish was worth celebrating! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️🙌

The changing colours of autumn, the fresh air and the buzz of our lovely QEII community made for another fantastic Sunday morning 🌳🍂🥰

A huge WELL DONE to all our junior parkrunners for getting out of bed, braving the chilly air and giving it their all! And, as always, a massive THANK YOU to our amazing hi-vis crew who wrapped up warm, gave up their Sunday morning and made Event #44 happen 🦺🧡 We couldn’t do it without you!

Congratulations to Dexter, who earned their 10th junior parkrun milestone wristband today, and to Ethan and Leah who earned their 25th junior parkrun milestone wristband this morning! 👏🏼 You should be extremely proud of the determination and effort you've shown to reach this milestone 🧡👟

So, QEII family… it’s time to start planning your spooky style! 👻

🦺🧡 OUR JUNIOR VOLUNTEERS ARE AMAZING! 🧡🦺

Did you know that a quarter of our volunteers at QEII this morning were juniors themselves?! 😍👏

We think that deserves a HUGE shout-out! 🎉

We’re incredibly lucky to have such brilliant young people helping make QEII Playing Fields junior parkrun happen. From giving out finish tokens and scanning barcodes to marshalling, tail walking, helping with the setup and cheering everyone on, there are so many ways for juniors to get involved🏃‍♀️🙌

And the best bit? Juniors can volunteer AND complete the 2k too! 🏃‍♂️🦺

Whether they help out before or after their run, or take on a volunteering role during the event, there are ways to get involved while still enjoying their own junior parkrun.

And it’s really easy to get started! 🥰

🧡 No experience needed
🧡 No regular commitment
🧡 Help out as little or as often as you like
🧡 Be part of our friendly QEII crew
🧡 Learn new skills, build confidence and have fun!

Volunteering is a fantastic way for juniors to see parkrun from a different perspective, support their fellow parkrunners and discover just how much goes on behind the scenes. And you don’t have to be a runner to be a brilliant volunteer! 🦺✨

We want to recognise all the amazing help we receive at QEII, and our junior volunteers play a huge part in making our Sunday mornings so special. Thank you for every smile, every helping hand and every bit of encouragement! 🧡

💌 Would your junior like to get involved?

Drop us an email at [email protected] or simply have a chat with the Run Director on a Sunday morning. We’ll be delighted to welcome them and find a role that suits them!

Let’s keep growing our fantastic team of hi-vis crew and showing our juniors that they can make a real difference! 🦺🧡👏

🎉🏃‍♀️ THAT’S A WRAP ON EVENT #43! 🏃‍♂️🎉

Another brilliant Sunday morning in the books at QEII Playing Fields junior parkrun! 🧡👟

👏 High-fives all round for our fantastic juniors who came along and gave their 2k a go. Every finish is worth celebrating, and we love seeing you cheering each other on every step of the way! 🙌🥰

🦺 Huge shout-out to our hi-vis crew! Our amazing volunteers help make the magic happen week after week, and we’re so grateful for every smile, cheer and helping hand.

We want to give a massive thank you to our extra special junior volunteers this week, we had a whopping 8 juniors volunteer this morning from helping set up and close down, marshalling, handing out tokens and leading our warm up! Well done to every single one of you - volunteering is a great way to get involved at QEII and you can even volunteer and complete the 2k too for an event credit and volunteer credit - double the QEII fun on a Sunday morning 🤩🧡

And of course, thank you to all the families, friends and supporters who bring the lovely QEII atmosphere each Sunday. You’re what makes this community so special! 🧡🌳

Congratulations to Penny and Emma, who earned their 25th junior parkrun milestone wristband today! 👏🏼 You should be extremely proud of the determination and effort you've shown to reach this milestone 🧡👟

One of our junior superstar volunteers also earned a milestone this morning - Abel one of our warm up extraordinares earned his 10th volunteer milestone wristband this morning! 👏🏼 You'll often find Abel enthusiastically leading our warm up, getting everyone ready ahead of 3.. 2.. 1.. parkrun 🏃🏼‍♂️ before running around QEII himself 👟

We hope to see you back at QEII soon, and if you missed us this week, know there is a lovely QEII welcome waiting for you next Sunday! 🤩

Have a wonderful week, QEII family! 🧡

🦺👟 QEII JUNIOR PARKRUN GOES TO SCOUTS! 👟🦺

Last week we had the pleasure of visiting 1st Abbotswood Scout group and bringing a little bit of QEII Playing Fields junior parkrun to them! 🧡

We had a brilliant evening playing games, getting hands-on with some of our junior parkrun equipment and finding out all about what goes on behind the scenes to make QEII happen every Sunday 🎯🏃‍♀️🦺

There was plenty of guessing, teamwork and a few surprises along the way - including the very important question…

🍫 How many Mars Bars would it take to stretch the full 2km QEII junior parkrun course?! 🍫

Let’s just say… it’s a LOT of chocolate! 😂

It was fantastic to see everyone getting involved, asking questions and discovering that junior parkrun is about much more than just running - it’s about volunteering, teamwork, community, confidence and having fun together 🧡

A huge thank you to 1st Abbotswood Scout group for having us! We had a fantastic time and hope to see some of you at QEII on a Sunday morning soon! 👋🦺🏃‍♂️

Who knows… perhaps we’ll have some new members of the QEII hi-vis crew joining us in the future! 🧡

If this sounds like something you would be interested in for your youth group, please drop us an email and we'd be happy to plan a visit! 📧
