🧡 A belated Volunteers’ Week thank you! 🧡

As Volunteers’ Week comes to a close, I just wanted to take a moment to say a huge thank you to our amazing volunteers at YOUth MATTERs. Without your time, energy, patience and support, this youth club simply wouldn’t be possible.

Every Friday evening you help create a safe, welcoming and fun space for local young people, and I am incredibly grateful for everything you do.

Thank you for believing in the vision and for helping us make a difference in our community. 🧡

🧡🧡 What a fantastic weekend for YOUth MATTERs! 🧡🧡

We had a really successful session on Friday with 15 young people attending, which was brilliant for our first Youth Club back after half term! It was lovely to see everyone again, and we’ve got lots of fun activities and exciting sessions planned for the rest of this school year.

Tonight was also a huge success, with our fundraising event raising an amazing £160 for YOUth MATTERs! 🎉

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and supported the event.

A special thank you to Paul Bannister for putting on such a fantastic evening. The feedback has been wonderful, and we are incredibly grateful for your support in helping us raise funds for the Youth Club. 🔮✨

I’d also like to give a special mention to Tia Barker, our youngest volunteer, for giving up her Saturday evening to help at the fundraiser. Your enthusiasm, dedication and willingness to help are a real credit to you, and we’re very lucky to have you as part of the YOUth MATTERs team. 🧡

Every penny raised will go back into supporting the Youth Club and helping us continue to provide a safe, welcoming space for local young people. We will continue to hold more fundraising events throughout the year to help ensure the longevity of YOUth MATTERs.

YOUth MATTERs is a safe, welcoming space for everyone.

To help keep it that way, we ask all young people to remember our club rules:

✅ Be kind and respectful to others
✅ No bullying, intimidation or discrimination
✅ Respect volunteers, equipment and the venue
✅ Look after one another
❌ No va**ng, smoking, alcohol or drugs
❌ No threatening or unsafe behaviour

Any behaviour that puts others at risk will be taken seriously and may be reported to parents/carers, relevant agencies, or the police where appropriate.

Our volunteers are committed to ensuring YOUth MATTERs remains a safe, supportive and enjoyable place for all young people.

So, I’m doing all the behind-the-scenes work for the youth club today and getting all our paperwork in check for the final term of this school year. 📋🧡

I honestly can’t believe that we’ve had 97 different young people come through YOUth MATTERS so far, and we’re now averaging 20–30 children every week. It’s absolutely incredible!

I’m so excited to see all our amazing volunteers and the kids tomorrow and start planning some fun sessions for this term. 🧡

If your child is starting high school in September and feeling a little nervous, please encourage them to come along. We’re here to support them, help them make new friends, and maybe even introduce them to other children who will be attending the same school.

We can’t wait to welcome everyone back!

We’re excited to be hosting a special evening with Paul Bannister Medium at Rothbury Community Hall.

Come along for an evening of connection, insight and community, while helping us raise funds for YOUth MATTERs & YOU Matter 🧡

Saturday 6th June
7:30–9:30pm
Tickets: £10 per person

BYOB welcome, and refreshments will be provided — tea, coffee, juice etc.

I’ve also changed the ticket price to £10 so nobody has to mess about with the extra £2.50, and hopefully it makes it more affordable for more people to come along.
