Wrexham Air Cadets

One of the UK's top youth organisations for anyone aged 12 (in year 8) - 17. Based in Hightown Barracks, Wrexham Welcome to 2279 (Wrexham) Squadron.

The Air Training Corps is a UK wide cadet force with more than 40,000 members aged between 12 and 20 years. Take part in many great activities. For more information check out the Air Cadets website at www.raf.mod.uk/aircadets

If your interested in joining then just come down to squadron on a parade night and see what its all about! We will be happy to see you and show you around and discuss the opportunities available to all Air Cadets.

Cadets undertook paddleboarding on the Montgomery Canal, a first time for many gaining confidence and key skills!

On Thursday, our newest cadets put their new found leadership knowledge into action by taking part in a variety of leadership exercises.

The exercises were designed to test cadets' knowledge of leadership and different briefing models!

Yesterday evening, our new cadets put their curiosity and teamwork to the test with a series of exciting STEM activities. From problem-solving challenges to hands-on engineering, our cadets are developing the skills that will shape the future!

DRILL & CEREMONIAL 🫡

Tonight our cadets were hard at work developing their drill knowledge, building confidence, discipline, and teamwork with every movement.

Drill is a key part of RAF Air Cadets training, helping cadets develop leadership, focus, and attention to detail while taking pride in their appearance and bearing.

Great effort from everyone on parade this evening!

Over the weekend, Cadets from across Sector 5 also attended 1918 (Ruthin) Squadron for a day of of shooting!

Several cadets achieved their Marksmanship Awards, congratulations 👏
