Tryfan ESU - WXM

THE GREAT TRYFAN BAKE OFF!

This week our Explorers had to bake a cake inside an orange, with eggs and water replaced by a can of pop!

They also had to build their own fires to cook them on.

The result? Barely edible, but absolutely brilliant! 🔥

Skills for life, questionable baking skills.

Tryfan ESU decided last night that normal sports were far too sensible, so naturally we built bridges to protect precious crisps, battled through a blind crisp taste test and launched into a full marshmallow relay. 😂

And because apparently marshmallows weren’t being used enough, we also discovered they make surprisingly terrible ping pong balls.

A night of teamwork, problem solving, communication, questionable engineering and an impressive amount of snacks. Basically, Skills for Life… but with crisps.

Who needs the Olympics when you've got Tryfan? 😎

This week at Tryfan ESU, the Explorers discovered that organising a camp involves two things:

💷 Making money disappear at an alarming rate.
🏕️ Attempting to turn poles and canvas into an actual tent.

We tackled camp planning, budgets and tent pitching. There was teamwork, problem-solving and only a small amount of questioning whether sleeping under the stars was actually a better option.

Skills for life, one financially questionable camp plan at a time! 😂

Want to get involved in the next adventure? Tryfan ESU is for young people aged 14–18. Drop us a message to find out more and join the chaos!

The first Tryfan ESU meeting ever and, for reasons nobody can quite explain, we decided to recreate Taskmaster with Explorer Scouts.

The results were... concerning. 😂

🍪 Biscuit-eating techniques that probably shouldn't be legal
🥸 Moustaches that ranged from surprisingly impressive to deeply questionable
🦵 Knees being transformed into famous people. Yes, you read that correctly.
🏆 Competitive spirit absolutely off the charts
🧠 Common sense noticeably absent

There were points. There was also questionable interpretations of the challenges.

And somewhere along the way, Scoutmaster became less about winning and more about discovering just how weird Explorers can get when given a simple instruction. 😂

Think you could do better? 👀
Come and give Tryfan ESU a go. If you're aged 14–18 and fancy adventure, challenges, laughs and a group that definitely doesn't take itself too seriously, drop us a message and come along to our next meeting.

Your challenge awaits. 🫵🔥

Well done lads!

Andrew and Matt have officially completed their Silver Dragon Awards! 🎉

And could there really be a more fitting place to finish them than Gilwell Park, the home of Scouting?
With this year's Gilwell Reunion marking 100 years of Reunion, it felt like the perfect place to tick this one off the list. 🏕️🔥

Plenty of miles, plenty of nights away, plenty of questionable camping decisions... and somehow, we've made it! 😂

Silver Dragons: DONE. 🐉✅

If your at Gilwell reuinion come say "Hey" as both Matt and Andrew are with BUSHSCOUT.UK

Da Iawn lads!

Tryfan ESU is officially getting the ball rolling!

Last week we had our first planning meeting, getting stuck into ideas for what we can get up to over the coming months. 👀

Camps? Adventures? Challenges? Something completely ridiculous? 🤔

What do YOU think will make it onto the Tryfan programme? Drop your guesses below! 👇

And yes… Matt somehow managed to swerve every single photo opportunity. Suspicious. 😂📸
