What a weekend! 1st Moss teamed up with our friends from 1st Hope Scout Group for a camping adventure, and the weather certainly tested us from the start. Tents went up in the rain, but not a single Beaver, Cub or Scout let a few puddles dampen their spirits.

That evening we gathered together around the campfire for a chilly but magical night. Songs, laughs, toasty hands, new friends and plenty of extra layers.

Saturday the sun came out, so we hopped on the train to Liverpool!

A few Scouts made up for the chilly night by catching up on sleep on the train, which tells about how much fun we’d packed in.

1st Moss Cubs have got creative and wrote messages without a single pen or pencil!

Using string, beads and feathers, our young people created their own messages. Some were colourful and some were quite mysterious, and they all showed real imagination.

There was lots of chatting, planning and problem-solving as friends swapped their creations and worked out what they said. It was a brilliant reminder that communication comes in many different forms, and that you don’t always need words to share an idea.

Well done to everyone who took part, you were fantastic!

Something exciting is happening at 1st Moss!

We’re thrilled to announce the re-launch of our Beaver Colony!

Our first session was full of smiles, giggles and new friendships. To break the ice, we played Froggy Feet! There was lots of hopping, laughing and silliness, and it was a brilliant way for everyone to get to know each other and feel at home. Our new Beavers jumped straight in, and we couldn’t be prouder of how they got on.

A huge thank you to our leaders and volunteers for all their hard work getting the colony up and running. This is just the beginning, and we can’t wait for all the adventures, games, badges and memories ahead.

This weekend our Cubs and Scouts are heading off on camp, and the excitement is building!

We’ve got an action-packed weekend planned:

Campfires: songs, stories and toasted treats under the stars

A train adventure: all aboard for a journey our Cubs and Scouts won’t forget!

An expedition: map skills, teamwork and plenty of exploring

It’s going to be a fantastic weekend of fun, friendship and fresh air, and the chance to try new things and make memories that last.

A huge thank you to all our leaders and volunteers for the time and effort they put into making camp happen. We couldn’t do it without you!

Parents and carers, please check your messages for kit lists and timings. Don’t forget their waterproofs and suncream! You know what the Welsh weather is like!

Cubs on a photography adventure!

Our Cubs have been busy working towards their photography badge this week, and they had some fantastic help from our brilliant Young Leaders!

The Cubs got to explore different cameras and see how each one works. The star of the show was the GoPro! There was plenty of excitement as they tried it out and thought about the different kinds of shots it can capture.

We also looked through beautiful photography books full of pictures from around the world. The Cubs spotted amazing landscapes, wildlife and faces from far-off places, and talked about what makes a photo really special.

Then came a real highlight! One of our Young Leaders brought in their own photo book from their recent adventures exploring Peru! The Cubs loved hearing the stories behind the pictures and seeing how photos can capture memories from an amazing trip. Thank you for sharing it with us!

A huge thank you to our Young Leaders for all their enthusiasm and support. They’re a fantastic example to our Cubs, and a real credit to 1st Moss!

Well done to all our Cubs, we can’t wait for them to share their photos with us!

We are so proud to share that one of our very own 1st Moss Scouts, has been awarded a much sought-after place at the Polish Scout Jamboree!

It's a fantastic achievement and a chance to represent Wrexham, meet Scouts from all over the world, make lifelong friends and take part in a once-in-a-lifetime adventure.

She's been baking, selling and running her own tuck shop at our latest camp to help get there.

If you have any opportunities, ideas or offers that could help get her to Poland then please let us know!

Take a look at 1st Moss Cubs getting to grips with some DIY.

All hands on deck whilst they cracked out the electric drills and had a go. Watch out everyone at home they'll be assembling flat pack in no time!
