Thank you to everyone who joined us for tonight's meeting!

This month we began by asking the group to share an item from their Bucket List, which included taking adventures around the world, compiling family photos, and a couple of particularly poignant reflections on appreciating what we already have in our lives ❤️

From there we delved deeply into a conversation about how faith and belief is portrayed in the media, with lots of great insights that we'll remember to take with us to Creating Connections on Monday! Thank you to all our members who will be taking the time to join us at Bangor University for this special event.

We closed the meeting with some exciting plans about future projects, including a potential field trip to take our members to places of spiritual and historic interest in North Wales. More on that soon 😉

Our next meeting is scheduled for Thursday November 26th - and we'd love to see you there!

Join us for our monthly meeting tomorrow!

**Thursday, October 29th, 6:00-7:15pm on Zoom**

This is our last meeting before Creating Connections on November 2nd - in preparation for that event, we'll be focusing this month's discussion around the relationship between faith/belief and the media:

How do you want to see your faith/belief represented on social or mainstream media? What stories are being overlooked?

We also have a great conversation starter, where we'll be asking everyone to share an item from their Bucket List. What's one thing you would love to do in your life?

As always, whether you are one of our longtime members or visiting us for the first time, *everyone* is welcome.

If you're not on our mailing list, contact [email protected] to request the link to attend.

See you there 🙂

Thank you Rev. Kathryn for welcoming us to the first "Soul Food" lunch at Theatr Clwyd!

This was a lovely opportunity for our NWI members to meet Theatr Clwyd staff - we introduced ourselves, shared a lunch, and asked each other: "What fills you with wonder?" This prompted a rich variety of responses, from sky larks, to Durham Cathedral, to a very special wallpaper...and then there was Bethan, who shared the story of the chaplain at her university. His gentle presence made such an impact that students wrote him a song to say thank you!

This was the perfect inspiration for Kathryn, who is currently working towards developing a new chaplaincy team at Theatr Clwyd ❤️

Thanks to everyone who took the time to join us today - if you'd like to join us next time, our second "Soul Food" lunch date is scheduled for November 18th at 1pm.

See you there 🙏

Join us next Wednesday (October 14th) for "Soul Food" at Theatr Clwyd!

This is the first of a series of monthly sessions led by Rev. Kathryn Price, bringing together staff and performers from Theatr Clwyd with representatives of different faiths and beliefs, for a conversation to *feed the soul*.

At this session, we'll begin with these questions:

"What fills you with wonder?"
"Where do we need more kindness?"

It will also be an opportunity to continue discussing the provision of a chaplaincy service at Theatr Clwyd...so let us know if you're interested in being a volunteer chaplain!

You can purchase a lunch at the ground floor café (directly across from the Art & Wellbeing Suite) or bring your own.

NWI member Anne will be bringing some vibrant table cloths, and she has asked if anyone has any flower arrangements or other humble offerings from the garden to add to the warm welcoming atmosphere?

Get in touch if you have any questions - see you there!

Register your free ticket to attend Creating Connections at Bangor University!

On Monday November 2nd from 13:30-18:00 the Religion Media Centre are bringing together faith/belief representatives with members of local media, to raise awareness of interfaith dialogue in North Wales, and gain a deeper understanding of the way religion and beliefs are interwoven into Welsh communities.

NWI Coordinator Gareth Hall will be speaking at this event, and we encourage all our NWI members to attend and share *your* interfaith insights and experiences. This is an incredible opportunity to celebrate the authentic lived experience of faith/belief communities in North Wales - especially how we connect, find friendship and learn from each other.

Register your free ticket via the link below, and share this with anyone else who would like to join us.

See you there! 🙏

Thank you to NWI member Farookh for inviting us to the Open Day at the Wrexham Mosque & Islamic Cultural Centre!

Along with the warm welcome (which we always receive when visiting) we particularly enjoyed learning from Farookh about the genealogy of notable Islamic and Christian figures mentioned in both the Quran and the Bible - a revealing example of the deep connections between two religions often mistaken for being poles apart 🙌

Thank you to everyone who joined us for last night's meeting!

This month we began by asking the group to share the last time they experienced a moment of joy, which included some lovely examples of people feeling proud of their sons and daughters, and a beautiful moment of recognition for a random act of kindness 😊

We talked about recent local events attended by our members, including the Wrexham Unity Walk, the Open Day at Wrexham Islamic Centre, the Bangor Cathedral Peace Day and the Interfaith Meeting at Theatr Clwyd.

We also shared details for the first official "Soul Food" lunch at Theatr Clwyd on Wednesday October 14th, to meet staff and performers and discuss opportunities for interfaith chaplaincy support. And we talked about the upcoming Creating Connections event at Bangor Uni, the Eventbrite link is now live - look out for that on our next post!

Finally, we had the pleasure of welcoming two new members this month. Thank you to Rajeev and Phil for introducing yourselves, it was lovely to hear from you both! This was how Rajeev described starting a new life in North Wales:

"I felt like a frog jumping out of a well and discovering the ocean..."

How wonderful ❤️

Our next meeting is scheduled for Thursday October 29th - and we'd love to see you there!
