This week is Better Transport Week (Campaign for Better Transport), celebrating how better transport connects people and places. Transport for Wales Trafnidiaeth Cymru fflecsi 🚌 operates as a demand-responsive transport initiative, connecting people across rural areas of Wales by picking up and dropping off passengers within a designated service area.

This sustainable and flexible service integrates transport by connecting with other rail and bus services. In North Wales the fflecsi service operates in many areas including:

πŸ“Conwy Valley connecting the towns of Betws-y-Coed and Llanrwst with the surrounding villages.
πŸ“Holywell and its surrounding villages
πŸ“Prestatyn connecting the town centre with its residential areas

Have you used this convenient alternative to traditional bus services?

A little trip to Bodorgan railway station to tend to and refresh the planters ready for the summer season 🌺

πŸš‰ Opened in 1849, the station is a request stop and was originally to be called Trefdraeth. πŸ›οΈ Nearby Bodorgan Hall is the largest country estate in Anglesey. The house, dovecote and barn are Grade II listed buildings. The site occupies a magnificent coastal position while the estate retains many of its original characteristics.

We're supporting Rail Safety Week with an educational trip along the Conwy Valley Line πŸ›€οΈ

Pupils from Ysgol Bro Gwydir were supplied with Rupee & Sushi Rail Safety books as they travelled from Llanrwst to Blaenau Ffestiniog. These interactive, 'choose your own journey' children's books focus on railway accessibility and safety. The pupils enjoyed following the two adorable furry characters πŸ• 🐾 on their very first train journey, learning how to navigate the rail network safely and about the support and accessibility features available at stations and on trains.
