Great to be at Liverpool Lime Street yesterday during Community Rail Week (Community Rail Network) promoting Transport for Wales Trafnidiaeth Cymru new direct train service from Llandudno to Liverpool. It was lovely to team up with Karen from the Conwy Valley & North Wales Coast Community Railway Partnership and showcase our Community Rail activities with passers-by.

To mark the 225th anniversary of Chirk Aqueduct and Canal, a beautiful new addition has arrived at Chirk railway station thanks to station volunteers and adopters, the Friends of Chirk Station.

What brilliant way to celebrate Volunteers' Week and Community Rail Week (Community Rail Network). Thank you for all your hard work and dedication to creating a welcoming environment for passengers and locals alike.

'Lines through the Land' Official Unveiling 🥳

Yesterday we had the pleasure of officially unveiling 'Lines through the Land' in celebration of Community Rail Week (Community Rail Network) and Volunteers' Week. Working with pupils from Lower Heath CE Primary School and Nursery, artist Cathy Williams and station volunteers Janet and Michael have explored local nature to create beautiful, site-specific artworks, bringing a fresh "sense of place" to Prees railway station.

'Lines through the Land' has been kindly funded by Transport for Wales Trafnidiaeth Cymru.

We've been busy preparing some art themed goodie bags for our budding artists from Lower Heath CE Primary School and Nursery - a small thank you for all their creative work to transform Prees railway station into a more connected gateway to Prees.

🚉 This week we're travelling to Ruabon for Local and Community History Month!

Did you know ⁉️ The village of Ruabon has a long history, as far back as the Bronze and Iron Age, and its main features are the local Iron Age hill fort, the remains of Offa’s d**e and Watkins d**e, along with the Parish Church.

The name of Ruabon is known far and wide as it gave its name to Ruabon brick, a distinctive shiny, durable red brick, seen everywhere in buildings within the Wrexham area and beyond.
