♻️ Planning to use one of our recycling centres this bank holiday? ♻️

Please be aware that we are expecting our recycling centres to be extremely busy over the bank holiday weekend, so we'd recommend visiting in the mornings or evenings if you are able to as our recycling centres tend to be quieter. All of our recycling centres will be open everyday from 8am to 8pm, allowing you to make the most of the lighter evenings.

Before you visit it's a good idea to check your mobile phone to find your nearest recycling centre. Google Maps will not only give you directions, but it can also highlight traffic on your route and show how busy the recycling centres are in real time.

🚗 Don't forget, you'll need to register your vehicle before coming along to any of our sites. It’s really easy to do and only takes a few minutes using either the free MyNotts app or our website. Find out more using the link in the comments.

🚚 Planning to use a hire van? You need to call our customer service team 24 hours beforehand to arrange your visit.

🗑️ To keep things running smoothly it would really help if you could sort your waste in to waste types before visiting our recycling centres. If you have DIY waste, please familiarise yourself with the DIY waste acceptance criteria. We've included a link to this in the comments.

🐶 Please remember that children and animals must stay in your vehicle at all times.

🙋 And finally, if you need any help when you're at one of our recycling centres, please just ask a member of staff as they will be more than happy to assist you.

🏫🚶 Walk to School Week starts tomorrow!

Evidence shows that walking, wheeling, scooting, or cycling to school improves the readiness of children to learn. It also helps them connect with nature and their surroundings. By reducing congestion and pollution around the school gates, it has great benefits for air quality and road safety too.

We’re encouraging families to walk, wheel, or Park and Stride, to and from school as much as possible during Living Streets’ next week.

As part of the , we’ve produced bingo cards tailored to different ages with fun activities you could also take part in along with way!

🚨Record-breaking investment in highways🚨

Cabinet Member for Transport and Environment, Councillor Bert Bingham, has welcomed the large-scale investment in Nottinghamshire’s roads.

“As everyone knows we inherited a massive problem with the condition of the highways in Nottinghamshire, and there is much work to be done to improve the county’s road network. In our first annual budget and programme we can start to turn the corner with a record-setting investment of over £180 million.

“We have, through our partners at Via, already commenced works in the most problematical areas with our multi-team and method approach to ‘first time permanent’ repairs and with our resurfacing schemes. Our teams will be delivering longer lasting solutions – coming soon to a road near you.

“We are confident that you will see a huge difference in road conditions over the coming months.”

Good news. The traffic lights outside Eyre's in Worksop have finally been removed as the new Health Centre nears completion. Unfortunately the kerb and pavement are damaged, so I will request that they are repaired as soon as possible.
