Dear All,

The speed limit between Hanborough and Bladon is being reduced to 40mph, making it easier for people to adjust to 20mph on the main road in the narrowest part of our village.

As a reminder, 20mph is a limit not a target.

In areas such as Heath and Lamb Lane, Manor Road and Home Farm Close, road users should adjust their speed according to the conditions.

Any member of the public can use FixMyStreet to report issues on the public highways but a Super User is trained to raise works orders, within criteria, for potholes, footpaths, kerbs and blocked drains. Orders go straight to the contractor for them to fix within 28 days.

Your parish council has two vacancies. The four current councillors would love some help with community projects, which include but are not limited to:

building a new crossing on Grove Road
improving the play area
A nature recovery plan

We have the funding but need more people.

Dear All,

OCC is asking for your views on the proposal to replace the existing 50mph speed limit on the A4095 Main Road between Bladon & Long Hanborough in its entirety with a new 40mph speed limit.

The proposals have been put forward for road safety reasons, supported by local Bladon and Hanborough councillors. Recent speed surveys show a 40mph speed limit is more appropriate, and aligns with the County Councils goal of reducing road casualties. In light of this please find the following consultation documents attached:

Public Notice,
Statement of Reasons,
Consultation Plan(s),
Draft Traffic Regulation Order(s).

The proposed Traffic Regulation Order is scheduled to be advertised in the Witney Gazette newspaper today; Wednesday 03rd June 2026 & in the Oxford Times tomorrow; Thursday 04th June. Details are also available to view on the Councils consultation portal at the following link:
