SUIT - Service User Involvement Team We are a lived experience recovery organisation working with the treatment provider Recovery Near You, offering diverse peer-led drug and alcohol support.

We are an award winning charity, working closely with Recovery Near You, supporting vulnerable adults in Wolverhampton and the local community. Our staff and volunteers all have a lived experience of addiction and can offer support to people struggling with drug/alcohol related issues, who are working towards recovery or already maintaining successful recovery.

Lynette is an outstanding volunteer, who can adapt herself to support a number of areas throughout SUIT.
She is part of our Cultural Engagement Team, working hard to engage the Afro-Caribbean community, as well as supporting at the SUIT office, the Women's Empowerment Group and with Recovery Near You at Pitt Street.
Lynette is also working with out team to facilitate our new Affected Others Group, which will start next week on 9th June at Wolverhampton Art's Centre.

A study by UK DPC reports that close to 1.5 million adults in the UK are affected by a relative or loved one's addiction. But this does not include those who called out for support. Could this be you? Are you in need of support? If so, this group is for you!
At SUIT we have a passion to help others who have been directly or indirectly affected by addiction, with holistic support offered by our Lived Experience staff and volunteers. With the launch of Affected Others, we aim to bring a new, fresh approach to offering support to family and loved ones who have been significantly impacted by a friend or family members addiction.

Affected Others group is fully inclusive and free to attend. This is a space for individuals to meet others who share similar experiences, to be heard and get support.
If you are interested in attending, please feel free to come along on Tuesday 9th June, between 11am-12pm at Wolverhampton Arts Centre, Dunkley Street, Wolverhampton, WV1 4AN.

Stewart is one of our newest volunteers. He is embracing recovery and has become a great support to the RISE programme, which he successfully graduated from himself earlier in the year.
Stewart and his dad, have just generously donated a hand built brick barbeque, located in the garden at Connaught Road Recovery Hub, which I'm sure we will all enjoy for years to come.

Amy came on board to volunteer around 2 years ago as an 'affected other'. She has a huge understanding of addiction as she is the daughter of our Senior Volunteer, Richard.
Together, they make a fabulous team!
Amy has recently taken on the responsibility of providing all of the lunches at The Recovery Hub for the RISE Group and is embracing this new role.

Recovery Near You's Summer Party is on tomorrow at The Recovery Hub on Connaught Road.
There will be a BBQ and garden games, as well as stalls offering support from a variety of local partnership organisations.

It's time to introduce you to Andrew. He is a very familiar face down at The Recovery Hub on Connaught Road, where he supports a variety of groups. He also spends most Monday's at the SUIT office.
Andrew is an active member of Head4Heath, which is facilitated at The Molineux and is a great advocate for supporting men's mental health. You will also find him at The Mander Centre this Friday, representing SUIT at the volunteer event.

This morning, we are introducing you to Simon, he is dedicated member of the SUIT team, who is working incredible hard to promote our services and support the Wolverhampton LGBT community.
Simon also chairs the local AA meeting at St Mary's and St John's RC church on Thursday evenings. and is always happy to discuss the 12 step programme if you would like to find out more information.

Chloe volunteers for us whilst also studying at University of Wolverhampton and juggling life as a full-time mum.
Her energy and commitment to any task given to her is boundless. She recently led the SUIT campaign to support Periodpoverty, with overwhelming results.
Chloe has gone above and beyond the expectations of any student volunteer and we cannot thank her enough.

Our next volunteer to introduce you to is Howie. He is an excellent member of the SUIT team, has a real passion for recovery and brings endless motivation and support to others. He supports at the SUIT office as well as delivering a 12 step programme each week to the RISE Programme.
He has also recently joined forces with one of our previous volunteers, to set up a much-needed CA meeting, which runs every Thursday evening at The Train Station Hub.
