🎨 Friends & Family Painting Workshop hosted by Shannon Ward 🎨

πŸ—“οΈ: Sunday 17th November 2024, 1 - 3pm
πŸ“: Mander Centre Community Hub, Wolverhampton

Hosted by Eagle Works' Graduate Studio Holder, Shannon Ward, this workshop offers an opportunity for anyone to enjoy painting. No matter your experience or confidence levels, Shannon will equip and guide you with the tools to let loose, feel creative, play, and enjoy the therapeutic qualities of painting in a relaxed, friendly environment.

While being led through the process of creating your own landscape painting, in this workshop you will reflect together on the title of the Eagle Works exhibition, Dwelling, by considering our relationships to spaces and places and sharing the places we like to dwell.

Light refreshments will be provided β˜•πŸͺ

Shannon Ward is a visual artist based in the West Midlands area. She specialises in large-scale portrait paintings of family and friends, and self-portraits. Her artwork explores Black representation and makes work that becomes the dialogue with the audience, allowing them to embrace and accept the Black gaze from a Black perceptive.
Shannon studied BA(Hons) Fine Art at The University of Wolverhampton and graduated with a First Class in 2024. Her work has been featured in the digital A-N Degree Show Guide 2024, and she was the winner of the Freelands Painting Prize 2024 for her piece β€˜BLACK BEAUTY’ (2023), which was selected to be in the Freelands Foundation exhibition in London.

This event is supported by the Games Legacy Fund through the Commonwealth Games Legacy Fund by the West Midlands Combined Authority.
