continued commitment for liberation for all Black people means we are continuing the work of our ancestors and fighting for our collective freedom because it is our duty. BLACK LIVES MATTER

We stand together in solidarity across the globe to change the world, we kneel together for peace and unities asserting Black people are treated as humanely and fairly as White people. It is a human right t

o receive racial equality, social and criminal justice in the societies we live and share, and to receive parity as full citizens of the country and as a nation. We operate in a humanitarian capacity and concern first and foremost. We believe racism transcends politics and endeavour to avoid distractions that attempt to get in our way of dismantling the harm that racism causes. We are not operating in any political capacity. We are not a member of or connected with any political party or staging a political campaign. We work for change !!

🎉 One year in… and what a year it’s been.

The Black History & Heritage Wolverhampton website relaunch has now been live for a full year — and in that time, we’ve also proudly launched the first Black History & Heritage Trail in Wolverhampton, run by the Black Heritage Walks Network.

From powerful stories to real community voices, this hasn’t just been a website — it’s been about bringing our history to life, right here in our city.

The trail has given people the chance to walk through that history, see it, feel it, and connect with it in a whole new way.

Big thank you to everyone who’s supported, shared, contributed, and shown love along the way — it really does mean everything.

We’re just getting started. 👣✨

🌟 Exciting News for Wolverhampton! 🌟

As the Project Manager for this landmark initiative, I’m proud to announce the upcoming launch of the Wolverhampton Black Heritage Trail and the official Wolverhampton Heritage website, taking place at Wolverhampton Art Gallery on 31st October 2025.

This powerful project will shine a light on the incredible contributions of Black Caribbean communities in Wolverhampton, featuring the unveiling of the Windrush Monument and a full programme of events including workshops, performances, and panel discussions.

The trail will also pay tribute to the legacy of the Black Arts Movement, which was founded right here in Wolverhampton – a movement that has shaped Black British culture and arts on a national scale.

This project was inspired by the late Vanessa Brown, whose vision sparked this work. I’m honoured to carry it forward in her memory, with the support of Wolverhampton Council, Wolverhampton Art Gallery, WWCCMT, and the Black Heritage Walks Network.

💬 As we move forward, we are calling on the community to help identify and honour key Black figures from Wolverhampton who have played a role in shaping our city’s history. These individuals may be featured on the website and trail.

📩 If you know someone whose story deserves to be recognised, please get in touch.

This is just the beginning.
Watch this space – more details will be shared soon.
