💚 UNISON operates a 4-week rule when it comes to providing representation in workplace issues.

This means you need to have been a member for at least four weeks before an issue arises for us to be able to provide representation

Joining after something has already happened means we’re unable to step in and help.

Being a member means support is there when you need it.

Not a member? join.unison.org.uk 💚

We’re the UK’s largest union, with over 1.4 million members. Join today and you’ll receive our support – with membership costing less than you might think. Before you get to work, get essential cover.

🏳️‍🌈Happy Pride Month to all our members.

🪧On June 28, 1969, the New York Police Department raided the Stonewall Inn, a gay bar in Greenwich Village. In 1970, the first Gay Pride Liberation March was held in Manhattan to commemorate the one-year anniversary of the Stonewall Riots.

✊Pride was, and continues to be, a protest as well as a celebration. A celebration of love and community, and a protest to show that the LGBT+ community will always stand together in solidarity.

Did you know that when you retire, you can continue your UNISON membership as a retired member?

Many people don’t realise this, but staying involved helps maintain solidarity between working and retired members, keeping our union strong across generations.

Retired members continue to play an important role within UNISON by staying connected, supporting campaigns, sharing experience and knowledge, as well as keeping in touch with former colleagues and enjoying the social side of our union.

If you’re approaching retirement or already retired and would like more information about retired membership, please get in touch.
