YMCA Black Country Group

YMCA Black Country Group Everyone should have a fair chance to discover who they are and what they can become. We do this by providing a broad range of services.

YMCA is the largest and oldest charity working with young people (and their communities) in the world. YMCA Black Country Group is an independent local charity, affiliated to the wider YMCA Federation in England & Wales, and the global YMCA family. Across the Black Country and border areas there are thousands of young people who need our help. We don’t just think ‘youth’ we also think ‘community’ and our work extends to include people of all ages, faiths, cultures and backgrounds.

When we looked out the window of YMCA Coffee at the Clock every afternoon, we saw hundreds of young people walking home from school. We wanted to create somewhere safe, positive and welcoming for them. Today, that vision has become the YMCA Youth Cafe, which welcomes around 80 young people every week!

The Youth Cafe is just one example of the fantastic initiative we're blessed to have in our Black Country team, to create valuable spaces in partnership with local organisations.

Please support the wider work of YMCA Black Country Group by voting for us in YMCA's Youth Matters Awards.

Next Wednesday 26th August, we're hosting a Men's Mental Health Awareness session in partnership with Ideal for All and their "You Ok, Mate?" Campaign.

The session will be about spotting potential signs and symptoms, where to get help and support for low mood and anxiety including self-help strategies. We also look at gender stereotypes and why men may be less reluctant to seek support.

This is a free event that anyone is welcome to attend. Please feel free to drop in.

Wednesday 26 August
2pm - 4pm
at YMCA West Bromwich
